PD: The second character of this story actually originates from the WizardUnion setting. One of the anti-establishment freedom fighters who tries to bring free expressionism to the public and destructive force against the wizard police force. After escaping from the authorities during one impromptu magical dance rave, they fight and run their way out, slipping past into the alleyway. An unfamiliar door is there and before the police force can arrive, they step through the door...

PD: The ending of this story, which I will withhold on the specifics, is definitely going to be somewhat inspired by Shin Megami Tensei and its tendency to have you eventually fight god. As one should. While the Headmaster is very much going to be played as the overall antagonist, the ending is a more direct way of combating the overall issue plaguing the setting.

AM: One of the big things that I hope to demonstrate in this story is how much I dislike how much Harry Potter has affected the state of magic in media as of late. While not entirely responsible and there are certainly better examples in the past that are just as responsible, I feel that the massive success that Harry Potter had definitely affected the perception of wizards and the concept of the magic learning school. I feel like codifying magic and turning it into a science ruins the "magic" of magic. Part of what makes magic so interesting is that it completely defies the laws of physics and the nature of reality by enforcing your own will over the natural order to create or do whatever you want, sometimes unintentionally. Having magic something be taught in a standard learning curriculum feels offputting because you learn exactly what magic is capable of and why it should be used as a tool instead of a narrative force. Not to mention the inherent classism that comes with further levels of education gatekeeping via monetary donations and such. It's telling that a fair number of scandals recently involving high accolade colleges giving out unearned degrees to rich people who are in no way actually well versed in the topic of the degree because they made significant donations to the universities. This imbalance leads to those in better financial straits not being in danger of everything going wrong if they fail. Part of this story is seeing the hypocrisy that even though people from all walks of life can make it into the school, not everyone is treated equally and some are given preferential treatment depending on their status.

WIP Wizard Story

PD: I plan on creating an story about wizards who fight against the preestablished system and laws that intend on perpetuating an endless cycle of the rich and wealthy to have easier access to cushy jobs and services that others never get access to. Anti-Harry Potter story if that means anything.
