It was a nice and sunny day over the Cape of Good Hope. The Kratt brothers, Martin and Chris, were just watching a local troop of baboons as they roamed the shoreline with their binoculars.
“Hag, baboon watching,” Martin would say with a content sigh, “just nice and relaxing out here at the Cape of Good Hope.”
“Yeah, thankfully no villains to ruin-” Chris was about to say before Martin stops him mid sentence.
“Nuh uh uh Chris, no jinxing.” Chris nodded and a silence fell between them. It's been a long while since they last had villains to deal with; a half of a year to be exact.
“... Still though, lovely day,” he said, soon turning his gaze to the baby baboons playing running based games with each other along the beach. “Maybe we can get Aviva to make us some baboon creature power discs.”
“Oh you mean these ones?” Martin pulls out two creature power discs with baboon silhouettes on them.
“Wow, when’d you get these?” Chris asked as his brother gave him one.
“Aviva gave them to me this morning when we were about to head out.”
“We may have to come back to do that later, boys,” Aviva cut them off in a slightly panicked voice, appearing as a holographic image from Martin's Creaturepod. “I just remembered we got those two new team aid recruits to pick up for their first day, WHICH IS LITERALLY TODAY!”
“Uh oh, if that's the case,” Chris said in alarm as he stood up, putting his baboon power disc into his pocket, “we need to get that training course set up for them.”
“And fast,” Martin added, jumping up before they both went off to the direction of the Tortuga.
“Jimmy, Koki and I already got part of it done but we need extra hands here to help us out.”
“We're on our way, Aviva. Hang tight.” Chris then hangs up as he and Martin went into a full blown sprint. But suddenly they heard a great BOOM back from behind them, towards the ocean behind them. “Huh?”
“What the heck was that?” Martin asked as he stopped and looked back. The next few seconds were silent - other than the baboons running back inland in terror - up until the moment they saw a familiar, black and crimson jet whooshing past them overhead like a bat out of the underworld from the ocean to the skies above.
“Aw heck, what did Zach do this time?” Chris asked in worry as he knows from past experience that Zach being around usually meant something bad happened. Chris then activated his Creaturepod to contact the Tortuga.
“Lemme guess you heard and saw Zach's jet too?” Koki asked as she answered the call.
“Yeah,” Martin butted in, “and a boom that came before it.”
“Whatever Zach did this time, we're gonna have to check it out before a potential pollution crisis happens,” Chris decided verbally.
“But the training course-!” Aviva tried to protest in complete disbelief and shock.
“It's gonna have to wait, Aviva,” Chris affirmed, causing the team's scientist to groan out as she relented.
“I'll get the Tortuga going!” Jimmy called out as he got to the Tortuga's cockpit. And within a few minutes came by and picked up the Kratt brothers and they went out to the ocean to see what happened.
