We are here with you again! Our new column is development! Here we will share all sorts of interesting stories and details about the development of our game in order to show our work process on the one hand, and on the other - to give you more understanding of what to expect from the game in the future.
Today we will tell you about some of the sources of inspiration. What unites them? The games from which the inspiration was taken are mostly focused on other mechanics. And also they're all from the same studio.
The idea of the basic mechanics came from the "Stories at the Bottom of the Glass" event in Honkai: Star Rail. The local bar is completely in a dream world, and mixing drinks is sometimes interrupted by solving platform puzzles that are slightly absurd due to the nature of sleep. And even though we have moved far enough away from this source of inspiration, it clearly deserves to be mentioned.
There are quite a few platformers that could serve as inspiration for the set of movements of our cat. There were a lot of them, truly, but the most painful problem - how to make a comfortable jump with such controls and a camera - was solved by the "Marcel's Great Adventure" mode from Zenless Zone Zero. Our main character is very similar in build to Bangboo! His legs, hovewer, are a bit longer!
And also… The new event at Genshin Impact, which reminded us of the advantages of painting different surfaces, also seems to be pushing for some kind of idea… Stay in touch and you will find out everything!
A single thread from everyone and there's a shirt for a naked one. So, piece by piece, the image of a mechanic has developed in our (and perhaps yours!) head. The demo version is just around the corner - and you can try to see for yourself what became the inspiration for this or that part of the game!
Always yours, the Wuss no Boots development team.
