The Greer Amps Black Mountain Crunch Drive looms large, like the towering behemoths of full stacks of yore, bringing vintage tone...
It's been a minute, but I'm excited to bring you all another pedal from Greer Amplification today - I actually won this Black Mountain Crunch Drive in a raffle put together by Waterslide Guitars, which raised over almost $11,000 to benefit all the folks here in Western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene! A great pedal with a great cause - what a great way to start your weekend, cheers!!
If you have shared pictures of the destruction in WNC after hurricane Helene, thank you for spreading awareness. This area should be getting all kinds of media attention. These communities are facing unfathomable circumstances and need all the help they can get.
That being said, please please PLEASE shift your focus to sharing resources and information to point people in the direction of helping. Whether monetary donations or volunteering, one of the most helpful things you can do for this area is sharing information and providing resources so people can get the help they need. If you haven’t donated and are financially able to, please consider it.
People have lost everything. Family members, animals, houses, cars, jobs, farms. The list goes on and on. Some areas are over a week without power and running water and some have no idea when they’re getting it back. People are STRANDED in their homes, taking bags, strapping it to themselves and HIKING to find help. If they’re not able to leave their homes, they are creating SOS and putting them in their yards or on their roofs so helicopters can find them. Roads are washed away. Entire towns wiped off of the map. This area is 2,200 feet ABOVE seawater, no one could have prepared for this. They are finding bodies in rivers and trees. It is so much worse than what is being covered in national news. These areas are forever changed and will take years to get back to some sort of normal.
So while you share photos and videos of these areas, please consider adding links to websites and organizations with boots on the ground to help these people. They need you now more than ever. Below is a linktree for websites you can access if you are able to donate. It is okay if you cannot donate but PLEASE share with your friends and families. Every little bit helps.

I rewatched the episode on YouTube recently, and it was great to see Chef Ray bopping around our little city, including a visit to Biltmore and the farmers’ market. She…
