"God, maybe this is why I wasn't a good Captain America," John groaned as he ran in hands down his face. "I can't spew the bullshit you do." The hopeful idealism wasn't something he did. He was a realist. A soldier meant to serve. Not a visionary like Steve or Sam. He couldn't fool himself into believing that he even deserved to find something good after everything.

John groaned as he tossed his shield to the side and threw himself down on the nearby couch of their makeshift hideout. Who knew trying to keep the peace between Sam and the New Avengerz would be this hard? His whole body hurt and he could feel where his suit was sticking to his skin from all the blood. John is a little worried about taking it off and seeing the real damage.

Instead, he looks over at Sam. His pace is slow as well, and he can see the slight limp as he walks. "You okay?"
