The rain clears my thoughts

The rain always calms me. I watch the dark clouds take over the sky in a slow crawl, and I can feel myself smile in anticipation.

I wait…

The sky finally cracks and rain starts to fall. When it’s like this, I sit near my window and smell the rain and I feel the cool breeze that takes away the heat that hung in the air all day. It helps me clear my thoughts. I don’t know why I find it calming, but I do, even when I know how much destruction can come from a storm. I close my eyes and listen as thunder rumbles seeming to shake the earth with its power, and watch as lighting dance in the sky. I feel my worries wash away with the storm as I just watch nature’s beauty.

I forget everything. What made me upset, angry. Everything. Like lose sense of self. Even for just a moment…

I miss the storm already…
