The founding of this country and the people who founded it are problematic at best and downright evil at their worst. I do not celebrate them. I celebrate only the best parts of America. The America who throws bricks into windows for gay rights. The America who shelters immigrants fleeing oppression. The America who welcomed me with open arms when I came out as trans. That’s the America that I am proud of and that is the America that I call home. 🏳️🌈🇺🇸
