And the farm au! Oh my god it lit up my brain like nothing else… and cause I too love angst…

Bunny Charles and Arthur being used to being spoiled bunnies, living the high life, all luxurious life but then their dom realized just how needy and dependent and expensive keeping two bunnies are and they do the equivalent of dropping them off on the side of the road in a box… so now poor bunnies are out in the cold harsh world and just don’t know what to do…

They just start walking back in the direction of home because maybe Dom made a mistake? and forgot them? But it’s a long cold walk and when the sun sets they see a warm light in the distance - your little cottage and farm, gardens full of yummy food and a welcoming warmth.

You wake up to two bunnies curled up in front of the fire place, covered in dirt with tear tracks

Or maybe you have a stall in the local farmers market and one day you hear just gut wrenching yips coming from the nearest alley and when you check it out — cat!max is there hiding and nursing a broken tail. Maybe his dad was yanking on his tail as a punishment and it broke/sprained it and max lashed out and ran away. Obviously you can’t leave poor kitty by himself, so you grab some of your supplies and spend the day slowly getting max used to you to allow you close enough to bandage his tail up. When you finally do that, he’s just curled up in your lap purring and out of his mind on catnip and genuine love and care and he just follows you home when you go to leave

Or maybe your farm is in an area with a lot of hunters and you’re taking a small hike cause it’s a gorgeous day for when you hear pained howling. Wolf!pierre and Carlos are caught in a bear trap or up a tree in some netting and it looks like they’ve been there for a while. You quickly get to work in getting them free and coax them to come to your house to fix them right up.

Or maybe you finally feel that you’ve settled nicely into your new farm and decide that it’s time to think about finding a hybrid for company. Maybe it’s luck or maybe it’s fate but you meet the pair of cat!oscar and dog!logan - they’ve bonded and won’t be separated but everyone they’ve tried stay with only wanted one not both…

I've had this ask in my askbox for months and oh my god every time I read it I get obsessed. I hadnt answered it yet because I knew I needed to set aside quite a bit of time because I knew this would be so long 😂

Here is the link to the original post so you don't have to search the URL, I'd suggest giving this a quick read for context if you're confused. It's very short but does explain it all :))

Right okay so the general premise is this: you own a farm in the hybrid!au with all sorts of drivers that come along and join. We can do this as a poly type thing or we can do it just as you run a farm and one driver comes along, whatever you guys would like to discuss! I think I'll tag everything with 'farm!au' but then also add 'poly!farm!au' to any posts that involve any sort of poly situation.

All of the stuff discussed by the anon above are just so so so perfect!!!! I'm gonna discuss each idea in a bit more detail each under their own heading and then we can go from there :))

BUNNY!CHARLES AND BUNNY!ARTHUR:

Aw poor little bunnies!! My immediate thought was that maybe their original caretaker/owner had died and they were handed over to whoever their dom has chosen and that was very much the wrong choice. They do try to get along with their new caretaker, of course they do. But bunnies are by far the most high needs of all hybrids, they're social creatures and they need constant attention or else they'll get sad and lonely.

Maybe bunnies need attention from people who are not bunnies as well? They need caretakers who are gentle and attentive and when their new person cannot do that and they start acting out (they can't help it!! They want attention!!), yeah they end up on the side of the road.

I definitely think for these two you wouldnt even get an option. You sort of just walk into the living room and two bunny hybrids are sleeping next to the fireplace.

CAT!MAX:

I love the idea of finding Max outside somewhere like at a farmer's market. I think maybe his dad left him there not to abandon him but to teach him some sort of lesson? Max is just curled up trying to keep quiet and waiting for his dad to decide he's had enough punishment and come fetch him. You manage to convince him to come home with you, promising him that you just want to get him into some nice clean clothes and get a good meal in him and then you'll call his dad for him.

Except well... Max feels so safe with you? He keeps on forgetting himself and purring or gathering blankets. He's never felt this warm and cared for. You offer to let him stay the night and the next morning you're supposed to call his father like you promised but well... Needless to say that never happens.

WOLF!CARLOS AND WOLF!PIERRE:

I feel like these two would have started out as enemies but they were forced to stay together? Like maybe they got separated from the rest of their pack and only had each other. They became much closer and got used to just the two of them. They don't trust anyone else. They manage on their own and are almost feral?

But then one of them gets caught in bear trap. The one not trapped tries to free the other of course but they can't. It's the fear of losing their only person that leads them to come into your yard. Maybe they had seen you quite a few times? Like you live on the boarder of the forest and they often see you walking in your garden and in the forest and you always seem calm, so the one not trapped comes to find you.

You follow him to the other one and help free him. They try to scurry off but the one is too injured. You convince them both to come back with you and let you care for their injuries. And they just never end up leaving?

Funfact, Carlos was actually originally my favorite character in descendants :)

Over time it changed to Jay, but Carlos was my original fav!

Currently I'm in school rn so I don't have access to my digital things of him, but I love Carlos sm!!

Thank you for all the warm wishes!! Much, much appreciated! Since it's been so long I'm sure some people have almost entirely forgotten about this AU, so I think I'll take this opportunity to firstly just go over the hybrid!AU in a bit more detail and then specifically these two in the hybrid!AU. I hope that's alright anon!! Please do let me know if there's anything else you wanted discussed about them and I'll happily do so :))

So in brief, the hybrid!AU is an AU where some people are born as animal hybrids. We play around with different animals for different drivers and also different level of hybridness? If that makes any sense. I hope it does!! All the content in this AU will be tagged with 'hybrid!au' and then I will also add a tag for each driver and animal combo, like 'wolf!Carlos'. Also, even though we do tend to focus on certain hybrid combos (like we're all obsessed with bunny!Charles), we can always discuss others!! I'm more than happy to discuss cat!Charles as well, which will just be tagged appropriately :))

I hope that all makes sense!! Now, let's discuss a little bit about each of the two combos mentioned in this ask.

Bunny!Charles: we're all utterly obsessed with any connection between Charles and Bunnies, because it just works far too well. All bunny hybrids in this AU have classic bunny ears. Some ears are long and floppy, others straight up or lopsided. The ears can be the same colour as their or some other colour, whatever you lads want! We've never spent much time discussing tails but I suppose they would all have cute little bunny tails? (We must discuss tails lads).

I've always viewed the bunny hybrids as very social? They always want to be with someone. They don't sleep well on their own. And yeah they tend to be horny little shits around certain people but also they want attention!! And cuddles!!! I like to imagine that bunny!Charles and bunny!Arthur always sleep together whenever they're both at a race. Charles won't be able to fall asleep until he's scooped his baby brother up and wrapped him in several blankets.

Now let's quickly do wolf!Carlos! So for wolf hybrids they tend to have wolf tails and ears, but also sharper teeth and perhaps also sharper nails? Or retractable nails? (we've never discussed that, but we definitely should!!). Wolfs are of course pack animals and that's definitely true for wolf hybrids as well. They definitely have pack instincts, they want their loved ones close and safe, and they are very possessive and have sensitive senses of smell.

Carlos gets VERY upset and growly if there's a scent on Charles that he doesn't know. He doesn't like when there's a scent on you that he doesn't know either, but with you he tends to actually ask you who it is and give you the time to answer. Charles doesn't even get to speak until Carlos is satisfied that there is no more traces of that scent on his bunny.

Good lord okay I've written quite a bit already!! Here's just a few completely disjointed thoughts about poly!wolf!Carlos and bunny!Charles that I don't think I've mentioned before:

I like the idea that you're linked to Carlos somehow, like maybe his trainer? You know Carlos better than anyone else, and you watch as he is in denial for months about his feelings for Charles. He keeps on insisting that he loves only you and would never fall for Charles, even as he grumbles and complains whenever he smells an unfamiliar scent on Charles. Meanwhile, Charles is trying his best to not seem like he's hanging on every word he gets from you and Carlos. (He once actually just knocked on Carlos's hotel room door and then claimed he thought it was his own hotel room. He had no explanation as to why he would be knocking on his own room door).

Charles is utterly distraught when he finds out that Carlos will be leaving Ferrari. He chews through just about every piece of linen in the entire hotel before Carlos eventually just grabs him and pulls him into his lap, scenting him thoroughly and promising to always stay close.

I think maybe you actually have to start bringing Lewis into things a little bit? You start having dinners with him, maybe sneaking one of his shirts into the bed. It's a bit like exposure therapy, slowly building up Charles's tolerance for him so that poor Lewis won't have a bunny nipping his ankles for an entire season.

Right I think that's quite enough, otherwise I just won't stop writing 😂 I love this AU and all its iterations. I hope this was enjoyable anon and every please do send your own ideas :))

ABSOLUTELY I CAN!!!

So firstly, Charles will take any and every excuse to hide in Carlos' chest. Literally every excuse. Someone walks into the room? Hide. Loud noise? Hide. His phone rang? Hide.

Wolf and bunny hybrids are both very social and require lots of attention. They both prefer to travel in packs and would rather never sleep alone.

And well, since neither Charles nor Carlos travel with pack, they stay together most of the time. It's often a very funny look, cute little bunny Charles will his fluffy ears and twitchy nose cuddled against wolf Carlos's chest, he's so much bigger than Charles, black ears poking out of his hair and his canines showing whenever someone tries to talk in the room because he doesnt want them to wake Charles.

I think in this au, you might be a team member? Like a media person or maybe the social media admin? You have to do a lot of work with the two of them and they both LOVE you.

Carlos is very protective of you, and he'll actually growl at people who come too close to you sometimes. Everyone kinda just rolls their eyes at his antics and chops it up to him being a wolf hybrid, but the truth is that he really really likes you.

Meanwhile, Charles is very needy with you. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body, but he's always whining and shivering, squeezing his way into your chest and refusing to let go, requesting ear scratches as payment for listening to you.

Pretty soon, they're both always with you? Carlos always wants to make sure that you and Carlos are safe and Charles is always seeking skin to skin with you so they kinda just follow you around?

The three of you start dating pretty quickly, and the first to kiss is you and Charles but Carlos is there and he watches. Carlos had leaned in to kiss you but then Charles whined, tugging you closer and Carlos chuckled and let you kiss Charles first.

And they're both fucking insatiable, Charles especially.

Hi! Since we’re talking about hybrid!aus, what about bringing back Wolf!Carlos??? (Enjoy my brain rot)

Wolves are very, very territorial. So naturally whenever reader goes with Carlos to a GP he gets stressed and his senses go haywire because he must protect his mate!!! He watches her when they film C^2 videos, she’s the first person he looks for when he gets out of the car.

He also loves being scratched behind the ears, I don’t make the rules. And everyone is kind of surprised because, ya know, they expected a wolf to be more… Wolf-like? More traditionally masculine? But he’s more like a puppy than a wolf when his girlfriend is around.

Also it is a multiversal rule that Carlos, in any AU, ADORES eating pussy. He will be unnecessarily whiny during a video or a conference if he can’t eat his girlfriend out before he has to leave. Also he would rub his nose on the clit because OF COURSE HE WOULD. He uses his tongue and his fingers and he literally eats pussy like he’s starving.

He’s also whiny during any other kind of sexual stuff. No matter what it is, he will be whiny and whimpering. He’s on his knees? Whiny. He’s making dinner and his girlfriend starts groping him? Oh he’s definitely whimpering. He’s fucking his girlfriend? You bet he’s vocal AF in bed. He treats the actual act of sex like a sacred experience. His favourite position is doggy (go figure), but it’s always so passionate.

Except for the times when he wants his girlfriend to be rough, when he feels like he’s done something wrong or they’ve had a fight.

Oh my god yes absolutely we must bring back wolf!Carlos, i LOVE wolf!Carlos (we also need to bring pack hybrid!Piarles with wolf!Pierre and bunny!charles, because obviously). Anyway, i adore these thoughts so much!! I focused more on the territorial aspect just because i had SO much to say, but we can absolutely discuss the other things too :))

Firstly, yeah wolves are known to be very territorial. However i think the odd thing with Carlos is that he's really only like that with you? Of course he cares about his friends and family, but it's only with you that he'll go crazy if he doesn't know you're safe. He's pretty chilled with everyone else, but if he doesn't have you in his sights he will be impossible to deal with.

To him, you're his entire pack. It's just you, and he always needs to make sure that you're safe.

I think that wolf hybrids would have an improved sense of smell and hearing? And he knows you like the back of his hand, can find you with his eyes closed in a crowded room like its nothing. Whenever he's with you, if he's not touching you then he wants to make sure he has some other way of keeping tabs on you, needs you to be close enough that he can hear or smell you. And if he can't, then his senses will go haywire trying to find you.

Maybe because of this, you're worried about coming to a race weekend because you don't want him distracted. But when you brings this up to him, he's so upset.

Because do you... do you not want to watch him race? Do you not want to travel with him? Do you not want to come with him? His heart breaks at the thought that you might not want to join him at races.

When you clarify that of course you would want to come with him, but that you're just worried about him being distracted, he's so relieved. Maybe he's actually been feeling so distressed at race weekends because you arent with him? How is he supposed to look after you and keep you safe and make sure you're eating and sleeping enough when you're not with him? He feels unsettled without you there, like there's a peice of him missing.

Sure it's a little bit bumpy at first when you start going to races with him, because he does get a little distracted at first. I also think he gets VERY upset when someone accidentally separates you two?

Like he's signing things for fans with one hand and holding your hand in the other, and he's as happy as can be. He knows you're right behind him, safe and secure, and he's interacting with fans and he's loving it!! But then more fans arrive from behind him and because you're holding his hand and standing a little bit back, the fans wedge themselves between you two and your hand slips out of his.

Which just... no. No no that can't happen. Instantly Carlos flies around, growling and frantically searching for you. And because of all the new people, he can't immediately smell you either and he just freaks. Luckily the fans quickly move aside and then he can see you again. He runs straight to you, pulling you into his arms and growling at his fans. He doesn't sign any more autographs, just takes you straight to his driver room.

Knowing Carlos, he probably can nightmares about that incident for weeks after. The whole thing lasted less than 5 minutes but it was the first five minutes of his life.

I think the answer would be for you to promise him that you'll stay in one spot while he's off doing whatever he needs to on race weekends? Because if he knows that you're safe and happy, then he can relax and focus on everything else.

He has a dedicated 'girlfriend' corner of his drivers room with a comfy chair (a sleeper chair actually, in case you need to nap) facing the tv, a mini fridge, a blanket, some extra pillows and snacks. He keeps the area ridiculously well maintained, and that's your little corner. He'll also get irrationally upset if someone else sits on your chair.

He loves walking around the paddock with you, and showing you the garage and having you watch his media duties. But when it's time for him to be in the car or go to the media pen, he personally walks you to your little corner, gives you a quick kiss and a cuddle and then drops you off there. He'll come to pick you up the moment he can.

The one exception to this, of course, is if he gets on the podium because obviously you must be right in front for kisses and hugs and celebrations, and you WILL be soaked in champagne, there's nothing you can do to stop this.

I'M HERE and I need to talk about the hybrid!AU with Carlos. I don't want to be too cliché, but I can only think of wolf!Carlos. I don't know if it fits much, but I feel that a wolf defines Carlos a lot.

Carlos is very hairy, a lot, and his shiny black hair has always attracted people, but many don't like the hair on his legs, arms, armpits, and chest because they consider it to look "unkempt," which obviously it's not true. And he also has lots of pubic hair, and all his previous partners told him that it's uncomfortable and he should shave.

So for a long time he shaved and waxed his entire body in order to please others and not look scruffy and unpleasant. But Carlos was never satisfied, because the hair grows in a matter of days or hours, and he feels naked.

When you met him, he really wanted you to see him as a well-groomed person who can take care of you and himself, that's what his instincts tell him. But you see through him, that's why you don't worry when a couple of days go by and Carlos can't shave or wax himself. Yet Carlos is worried, and he gets nervous when you try to have sex with him. You immediately stop all attempts because he seems uncomfortable, and Carlos is apologizing to you and swearing he's going to take better care of himself as soon as possible to be presentable to you.

You stop him at that point, and have a long conversation with him about how he feels about his body and his hair. You reassure him that his body deserves respect as it is, and that hair is part of him, that he doesn't have to worry if others see him as dirty or scruffy, because they're wrong and he deserves to feel comfortable deciding how he wants to look for himself. same. You assure Carlos that with or without body hair, he will be the most handsome man in the world, your world.

Carlos crying? A little, a little too much. He didn't even expect to cry, but he never imagined meeting someone who would make him feel that safe. And you have already shown that you love his tail and his hair, you not only accept but love his hairy body!!!

Every once in a while you help him trim his pubic hair to a level he's comfortable with, but it sure takes hours because he can't contain his happiness and wag his tail and squirm. Carlos loves that you love him and his body so much.

OH MY GOD WOLF!CARLOS. 🌻, you are a GENUIS. This is incredible. 10000/10.

Firstly, a Wolf suits him perfectly. Not only because of his hair, but because he’s protective and loyal and fights for his family and is absolutely a pack animal. He works best surrounded by others, when there are people to support him and love him and who he can protect.

(And yes that does include you, he’s like a herding dog with you)

Carlos has never had a partner completely fine with his body hair. Sure he’s had some who don’t seem to bothered mostly, but there’s always something.

It just breaks his heart when he wants to cuddle with his partner and they won’t put their head on his naked chest because it’s too hairy. He’s perfectly fine with a partner not wanting to give him head because of pubic hair, but so many of them have pressured him into shaving, saying it’s completely unacceptable that he hasn’t.

Some have even refused to cuddle with him outright because he had too much hair. Especially a few days after he shaves, because then his hair starts to grow and it’s all spoken and uncomfortable.

He’s a wolf! He needs a pack! He needs cuddles and skin to skin, especially from the person he’s in a relationship with and so to be denied that for something he can’t control? He’s so sad. All the time.

And then he meets you, and holy fuck he loves you so so much. So much more than he’s ever felt for anyone else before and he has no idea what he would do if you turned him down.

So he always makes sure to be cleanly shaven everywhere. He literally shaved every single day. He refuses to scare you off. He will not.

But then a few days go by and he doesn’t shave. Maybe you and him go away together? You go to a cabin in the middle of nowhere and just cuddle and fuck and talk and cook ridiculous lavish meals and it’s amazing. It’s absolute heaven for Carlos’s instincts to have you all to himself like that.

And he honestly just… doesn’t get the time to shave? He’s with you the entire time, only leaving you to go the bathroom and that’s it. You shower or bath together, taking full advantage of the private outdoor shower.

Then before he knows it, he’s woken up on the third day and his hair is all prickly and starting to grow back. You haven’t woken up yet, and to his shock you’re still cuddled against his chest, seemingly not caring that the hair is starting to grow back.

After breakfast, he’s trying to figure out how to escape to the bathroom for half an hour or so to shave but he has no idea how. And he doesn’t even want to, because he wants to savour every bit of time he has with you.

You walk up behind him in the kitchen, hugging him from behind and slipping your hand under his to press your hand against his chest. You kiss his neck, clearly trying to have sex and as much as Carlos wants to, he’s scared because he thinks you’ll turn him down for the hair.

He’s had so many partners make him go shave before sex, and as much as he wants sex, he actually doesn’t want to shave? He wants to just stay with you, doesn’t want to have to work so hard to make himself presentable, wants to be accepted just as he is.

You stop of course, realising that Carlos is clearly uncomfortable. He doesn’t want to admit what’s bothering him, but he also can’t lie to you.

The next thing he knows, he’s spilling everything. Your heart just breaks when you hear what’s been going on, how his previous partners had treated him.

You love Carlos!! And you would never, ever expect him to change something about himself that he has no control over.

If he wants to shave, that’s fine. But you wouldn’t want him to think he has to for you. All he has to do for you, is be himself. That’s it. That’s all he has to do.

Before Carlos even knows what’s happening, he’s crying and not just a little either. He’s properly crying, throwing himself in your arms, even his tail is wrapped around you.

He still doesn’t quite believe you, and for the next week or so, he keeps on glancing at you as he grows his hair out again. He keeps on waiting for you to say it’s officially too long. Every night he expects you to decide you won’t sleep on his naked chest, won’t let him tangle his legs with yours, ect.

But that never happens. You act like nothing has changed, because to you, nothing has. He’s still your Carlos.
