Wolf by Mark Thornton
We're going home today, and I'll post some pictures sometime after we get back. Maybe tomorrow I will post them.
I was looking at the Wolf Sanctum web site, and it was Nala that escaped. Someone broke the lock on purpose and opened the gate so she would get away.
We'll, we're in North Carolina now. We stopped at Wolf Sanctum. Two of their wolves have died since we were last there. With one of the wolves, some douche opened the cage and the wolf ran off. The woman tried to chase after her, but she couldn't keep up.
We petted Rose again. She's the oldest wolf that they have there now. She's 14.
We stopped at Pizza Hut for dinner, and Catherine got mad because the waitress took too long to get Catherine's card. We weren't in a hurry, so there was no need to get upset. So Catherine said she was going to wait in the bathroom, which wouldn't make them hurry up any faster. Then she threatened to yell at them. I told her if she did that, we would go straight back to Georgia. The reason for the wait was because someone called the restaurant to order some food and there isn't many people working there. Me and my dad weren't mad about it. Just Catherine. But listening to her complain was making me a little mad.
At the motel when my dad was setting up the internet, he almost downloaded a fake flash player because a thing for it popped up on the hotel's web site. Thankfully, Norton blocked it. Things like that are why I use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer. But I can usually tell if something is bad.
We're gonna pick up Catherine tomorrow and the next day, we'll go to North Carolina. We're gonna see the wolves first, then we're going to stay at a motel. I'll have to remember to bring the Wolf Children DVD to give to the lady at Wolf Sanctum.
I was checking out Wolf Sanctum's site and one of their wolves died. It was a wolf named Nala, one I definitely remember. I'm glad Rose is still alive. She's the friendliest wolf there. Last year, I was petting her through the fence and she was licking my hand.
Also, they might end up closing to the public next year. The whole thing is owned by just one woman. She ends up doing most of the work and has some volunteers for other things. She said she's getting too old for this and won't be taking in any new animals. So this trip there next month may be my last time. Thinking about it makes me feel sad.
I did order another copy of Wolf Children and I'll give it to her when we go to North Carolina.
There's another wolf sanctuary I found out about in Indiana. According to Google, it's seven hours away from my house. It's kind of like Shy Wolf Sanctuary in Florida because they let you go in and pet the wolves. Maybe if Wolf Sanctum is closed next year, we can go there.
There are a lot of other places I'd like to visit, but you need to either drive for over a day or buy an expensive plane ticket.
Yesterday, my dad was talking about what we will do on our trip to North Carolina this year. Catherine is going with us. We plan on going to Wolf Sanctum again. I look forward to seeing Rose the wolf again. Then we'll be going to Chimney Rock, and then we'll be going to Tennessee to go to the Lost Sea, which is a lake that's inside of a cave. I went there with my dad a few years ago. I don't think Catherine has ever been in a cave before.
We stopped by Wolf Sanctum, and this time I got to pet Rose, the wolf that I fed pepperoni to last year. She was licking my hand and rubbing against the fence. She seems to like attention.
We're at a different hotel now, and tomorrow we'll be going home. I'll probably post some pictures the day after we get back home.
