I was gonna go to sleep earlier but I have decided to switch to a new Tumblr account. If you are followed by someone named after a plant and an animal it is me. This one will no longer be used.

Enjoy.

I only noticed this precious baby after I’d been standing four feet away from it for about ten seconds. Its body wasn’t any bigger than a basketball, and look at how tiny its little hooves are! I had to walk past it several times, and it never budged or made a peep. If you find a baby deer like this, it is not abandoned - it’s keeping a low profile from predators while its mother forages for food for the day. Its mother will come back for it.
Important knowledge about wildlife.
I am glad that someone reminded me that this post exists, because fawning season is coming up. I’d like to add that if you find a fawn like this, I know they’re adorable, but, do not touch it. See how clean it is? No dirt, not a single tick? Their mothers very meticulously groom them, and it helps reduce their scent to almost zero. If you touch a baby deer, you leave a scent on it, and, it’s not that the mother won’t take it back, it’s that predators that might not have noticed the fawn before can smell it, now.
dont touch me babies
@dokan-satoshi actually that poster is full of shit. At least for white tail deer specifically most kinds of deer and elk
You CAN touch a white tail deer fawn (I wouldn’t because you may cause them undue stress) and the mother will still take them because the idea that she won’t take the fawn back because of the scent is pure bullshit.
There are a number of videos you can find of wild deer that have been rescued by human interaction that show them returning to their mother and the mother grooming and nursing them, and there’s also the fact that many deer, including the white tail, “adopt” abandoned fawns.
So basically, don’t pet them they may freak out a little and make that adorable little noise they do and run away since it tells them their spot is not safe, but don’t worry if you end up having to anyway in an emergency because the mother will take them back and if not then there’s probably another one nearby that will.
The doe just spent a good seven months with the fawn inside her, she’s not going to reject it because it smells off.
Here’s one source that confirms this.
touch me babies
But.. The person did not say “Don’t touch it the mom will reject it”. They said, don’t touch it predator might detect it.
Regardless, whatever the reason. Just don’t touch them.

I did my best to do Georgia for the state starter pokemon thing. Feebas: for the official state fish (large mouthed bass). Torchic: ( Gainesville is the Chicken Capital of the World ). Roselia: (Thomasville is known as the City of Roses.)
Continued Georgia pokemon starters. The Cherokee rose is the state flower. Trevenant: (live oak is the state tree).
Awesome! Trevenant sure is a live oak if you know what I mean (it’s alive).
Hubby came back from his business trip in LA with another Shiba (and key covers) for me. Look at the matching prissy faces.
Commissioned Portrait of an FFXIV character. Drawing dem Au’Ra is so fun, love the horns and bones ~_~

For now I think I will just stick with FFXIV until a game I like better comes along. I shouldn’t let a couple of people ruin it for me.
I can’t stand how cute this is!!!
If there was another game that I would enjoy better than FFXIV, I would switch to it. It’s a fun game, but it’s not fun when there are people there who have bullied you. I rarely see those two now, and I try to not really care about what they think of me. One of them seems to like looking at my Tumblr for some reason, so I may eventually change the URL or make a new account entirely.
I liked WoW, but haven’t touched it since playing FFXIV. It is missing so many fun things that FFXIV has. I mostly just enjoyed doing quests and holiday events when they showed up. Also my boyfriend said he has played it before, but he didn’t really like it.
Where wolves and bears are travel companions
March 16, 2016 - Travelers who consider nature and wildlife adventures the ultimate in luxury have a few new options for their bucket lists.
In Norway’s Polar Park, the world’s northernmost wildlife park, the recently opened Wolf Lodge enables guests to literally spend the night with wolves and interact with the socialized animals for a supervised wolf kiss. The lodge is set inside the park’s wolf enclosure, with guests separated only by the wooden walls and oversized windows. This means guests can spend the night safely tucked inside the lodge and watch the wolves in action.
The stay includes the company of a wolf expert and guide, who during the day takes guests outside and introduces them to socialized wolves, where they can also get a supervised face-to-face wolf kiss.
The pine lodge’s design is like that of a modern Norwegian farmhouse, featuring an open floor plan that includes five guest rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and handcrafted dining table and a living room that looks out on the wildlife. In addition to the wolves, the park is home to a variety of native Arctic animals, including wolverine, Arctic fox, bear, lynx and reindeer.
Polar Park is located about 45 miles from the harbor town of Narvik, in the heart of the Salangsdalen Valley.
A four-day, three-night “Night with the Wolves” itinerary to Narvik with Off the Map Travel is priced from $3,150 per person, excluding airfare. The package includes transfers, one night at the Wolf Lodge with dinner, the guide, two nights in a four-star hotel with breakfast, a boat trip along the fjord to search for wildlife and a “Lights at the Lodge” gondola trip up Narvik Mountain to view the northern lights.

We just had a thunderstorm and my dog Jiu-Huo got scared and hid under the bed. She used to not be afraid of thunder and would just ignore it, but the last few times we’ve had storms she got scared.
