A trunk I made for my Dad for his birthday :) I will never work with red oak again. That hardwood took *days* to sand down and split whenever I put in a normal sized nail. Had to learn a lot in woodworking while making this. It doesn’t look this red in person and he loved it!  The wip under the cut. 

I used a wood chisel to soften all the edges and to make it look weathered a bit first. I forget how long it took to make this but it was a long long time because I could only work on it after work and when it was warm enough to work in the garage for the sanding and staining. I brought it inside after begging my mom and showing her that the glue wasn’t drying and stain wasn’t staining lol. Dad has it in his living room as a permanent fixture :3

My artwork and writing blog

So! I started up a new art blog. It is in it’s infancy so please be gentle, I don’t know what I’m doing yet. (I am the old and non-tech-savy) (I also suck at tagging and organizing) I gotta find a suitable ‘theme’ for it so that it’s easier to use for me and others. I’ll be posting all of my art and writing on there first. I will keep posting the fine quality finished art and stories here too, don’t worry, but on the other blog will be the rough sketches and miscellaneous art as well. I have made A LOT of art in my lifetime and I don’t always show everything to strangers, so, depending on the reception, I’ll post what I feel comfortable with, but, if y’all wanna see the rough drafts and pencil sketches too, they will be going up exclusively on that blog. Mainly so I don’t clog up my main blog with doodles and ideas. Sound fair? Please follow that blog if you wanna see my scribbles ;D
