oh i totally get wanting the organic approach. but with everything subject to backlash, ppl wants to make sure all their facts are all purfect & credible or some troll will find a clever way to meme a mistake & the internet drags them to hell.
then they become a total joke, their reputation smashed & they h8 their life. So everyone takes the safe but boring approach to these social topics. at least it means the general public is getting the message & ppl start becoming less awful.
I feel that. The monetization of youtube through adsense and partnership, especially compounded with the ~*celebrity*~ aspect of it, makes it hard to be candid for a lot of these people. Not to mention the way youtube's viewership algorithms supposedly work (high amount of likes + high amount of shares gets you in more people's "recommended" boxes) it's hard to disrupt that propensity for the do-nothing safe channels to get attention.
I get that it's still doing /some/ good, but I'm just saying maybe we need more candid video posters who aren't so financially dependent on being vanilla to start some real discussion and introduce some original ideas. I honestly think posting videos on tumblr could be a way to do that, but idk.
