“Well, maybe you should’ve joined the 501st if you wanted to ‘take it easy’.” Wolffe chastises you.
You roll your eyes as you walk away, muttering. “Maybe I should have.”
You make your way back down to the medbay to cool down, throwing yourself onto one of the cots. It’s been a rather slow day, and all your work’s been done since this morning, which is why you weren’t doing a whole lot when Commander Wolffe started in on you. Which wasn’t unheard of. You and Wolffe didn’t get along most days, but you got your jobs done.
“You and Wolffe get into it again?” Sinker’s voice fills the tent.
“Mmhm.” You mumble into the pillow.
You know it’s Sinker because he’s the only one from the Wolfpack that you’re even remotely close to.
“You know, you’re pretty cute when you’re angry.” He teases you.
You peek over at him, finding him sitting on the cot next to the one you’re laying on.
“You’re too sweet.” You smile.
“Just speaking the truth.” He leans back on the cot he’s on and rests his hands behind his head. “You should cut Wolffe some slack, though. He’s having a rough time right now.”
You roll over to your side to look at him. “Why?”
He shrugs. “Not my place to say. Just… give him a chance. For me?”
You roll your eyes, smiling. You never could say no to Sinker. “Fine.”
“Thank you.” You feel his hand pat your back.
You sit up and look at him.
“Why are you so sweet to me?” You ask him, unable to stop smiling at the silver haired man.
“Because you make it easy.” He tilts your chin slightly and starts to head out. “Meet me out back tonight. I have a surprise for you.”
Your stomach flutters at the thought and you nod, smiling at him as he leaves. Sinker is the biggest reason you stay with the 104th. As long as he’s here, you’ll be here.
