“Pleaseeeee Remus?”
“No.”
“Moony…”
“No.”
“Pretty please?”
“Pretty pretty please?”
“Pretty pretty pretty please?”
“Pretty pretty pretty pretty please?”
“Pretty pretty pretty pre-”
“Fucking hell Sirius shut the fuck up!” Mary shouts annoyed from the other side of the common room.
“But I just want to play one game of chess with Moony…” Sirius whines.
“And Moony said no.” Maybe you would wonder why Remus says no, because he is hopelessly smitten with Sirius and does almost everything for his attention.
The answer to that has been pestering him continuously about the damn chess game for the last five minutes and is currently lying on his chest. Half an hour ago, Sirius had approached him, dramatically whining about how tired he was. So like any good friend, Remus had opened his arms for an encouraging hug. However, Sirius had pushed him down to nestle on top of him, claiming him as his pillow.
So now they are laying here, their legs entangled and Sirius’ head just close enough for Remus to nestle his nose in his hair when he wants.
No way he is agreeing to any type of game that would have Sirius move away.
Also, his book is finally reachting the good part.
“But I’m bored,” Sirius proceeded his tantrum. “You’re really comfy but we both know it’s impossible for me to just lay here and do nothing.”
Remus hums. “It’s kinda late already, you can just go up to the dorm to sleep.” Fuck, why did he say that? Please don’t go.
“Nah, I’d just fall asleep here, but my back is cold.”
He huffs, waving his hand to accio Sirius’ favourite blanket, his lapdog watching with big, beautiful eyes while he arranges it around them with a soft smile.
“I fucking love when you do that,” Sirius murmers, nestling his head back on Remus’ chest.
He chuckles. “Says mister decades-of-pure-magic-I-made-my-cousin-fly-when-I-was-two.” Not able to help himself, he momentarily discards his book to stroke his hands through Sirius’ hair.
Sirius sighs happily. “It’s different tho.” The way he leans into Remus’ hands makes a blush paint his cheeks. “You do it way more casual.”
“Huh?” Whenever he sees Sirius do wand- or speechless magic, it looks just as easy as it is for Remus.
“Like- I have to practice countless times. Also, I can only do it for aggressive magic. I’ve never managed a protego, or a simple accio like you just did.”
“Oh.” Remus frowns his eyebrows. Now he thinks about it… “Never noticed that. It’s the exact opposite for me. I can do the like- domestic stuff-” his blush was just growing and growing “-without thinking. But never the complicated ones. That’s why you always get higher marks on those tests.”
Sirius pats his cheek in mock comfort. “You’ll survive. You get way higher grades in DADA even despite that.”
Remus picks up his book again while rolling his eyes. “Anyways, go sleep and ruin my back, so I can read.”
Sirius curls around him more tightly, forever cold hands creeping around his back while he tries to snuggle as close as possible.
Remus is able to read the impressive amount of three quarters of his page until Sirius is sighing dramatically. “I’m bored.”
“Then go to sleep.” Of course Remus knows it doesn’t work like that for everyone, and especially not for Sirius.
“I can’t sleep when I’m bored. Entertain me.”
Remus just looks down at him, not even fighting the fond smile that appears on his face at how cute Sirius looks. The sigh that follows is entirely fake.
“I will read my book aloud, but no interruptions because I finally reached the good part.”
Sirius’ hands move a tiny bit, fingers slipping just under the border of his sweater.
When all he receives is a tired ‘alright’ he starts talking, with Sirius slowly lulling asleep in his lap.
