....I debated whether to be predictable or not, but curiosity killed the cat! How about the bodyswap trope?
Stars, Ashley, I have not read nearly enough bodyswap to be able to reproduce this trope satisfactorily. My experience with bodyswap media at all is pretty much:
- osmosis from your blog
- dragon princess, book 1
- vague memory of an enchanted forest chronicles plotline that may or may not have actually happened
- that one x-files episode
- descriptions of quantum leap, absorbed mostly thirdhand through mcelroy media
In all probability, if I did write it, it would be something that I would play off as entirely silly because I do NOT think I could do it justice in any kind of serious manner (and yet, in order to do it silly, you kinda need to know how to do it serious, now don’t you....hmm). IN ANY CASE, it would be cool to see with nonhuman/monster characters especially, imo, so something like a dracula bodyswap or a bodyswap with daine and any of her animals (though she kind of does that with sharing their brains/shapeshifting -- we haven’t seen any of them try to walk around as a human though). I just don’t know that I would trust myself to write it. send me a fic trope and I’ll tell you how likely I am to write it
