It had been four months since the Phantom War ended and Red was recovered along with the other mobians that were indoctrinated into being part of Eggman’s forces... Well, more like cannon fodder or shock troopers with how expendable they were and to lower the morale of the resistance because the doctor banked on the idea that they would hesitate to kill or harm their loved ones just in case they were the ones under the helmets or masks.
Despite this, the squirrel couldn’t remember any of what he did or when he was captured.
Most victims managed to regain their memories by now though... Well... Some of them would have preferred not to remember at all because of the terrible things that they did while under Eggman’s control.
Sighing as he continued to lay on the couch of his rundown apartment, Red listened as he waited for his communicator to go off, hoping that any of the places that he sought work in would get back to him with some good news.
The squirrel was about to try and take a nap when he heard a knock at the door, causing him to sit up sharply, blinking in confusion as he was sure that he wasn’t expecting anyone today.
With a grunt, Red pushed himself off the sofa and approached the door, unlocking the knob but not disengaging the chain.
Can’t be to careful these days after all.
“Hello?” he asked after opening the door slightly and peeking through the small opening to check who was looking for him.
In hindsight, perhaps it would have been better to check the eyehole instead...
