Sole was wandering around, writing in her notepad to make notes of the place she was temporarily, as a frown was on her face… The wolf didn’t know what to make of the city despite the safety of it all considering there was a nagging feeling that something was wrong but she couldn’t place her thumb on it.
Although her thoughts were soon interrupted when something or someone landed right on top of her; knocking her to the ground and letting out a painful groan before looking to see who landed on her.
“I’m fine…” She mumbled; waving her hand to the side. “I had worse… Although are you alright considering…. You know…?”
Okay - the wolf didn’t get hurt. Nothing seems to be broken or sprained, nor on his end. A rough fall, yes. But that’s something the jinx is used to by now. So much to cats land on their feet. Maybe if he is lucky enough, but they were rare cases.
Still, that was a lousy first impression.
“I’m fine, yes - not the first time I was falling from … “ A sheepish grin and he rubs the back of his head nervously as he gets up, extending a hand towards the stranger as well.
“Sorry again about that. The tree branch just broke off. Are you … new around here?”
He was certain that he has never seen the wolf around here, but it could be wrong.
"I've been....recovering."
Yeah apparently surviving being blown up by his 'younger brother' of sorts, did take awhile to repair. Which absolutely suck because he had to download the firewalls patches, try and keep up with whatever he missed in general, try and figure out how to not be secret agent man in public, yadda yadda yadda. Ya get the picture.
"But it's been so boring!" he lamented, posing dramatically by placing his arm against his head and leaning back before straightening himself back up. "Seriously it's like when you Mobians are stuck in the hospital for a few days with a broken leg or whatever, but like....twenty times longer. I couldn't even pirate the good movies to keep me entertained! Because 'your firewalls aren't up-to-date, let's not download a virus'."
Oh he wanted to do the air quotations but he did have to admit that Mr. Chuck did have a point. ....still sucked.
“Recovering? Of what?”
Jeeez, you don’t cause trouble for a bit and go into retirement and the robot has to recover somehow. Rough listens further as he watches the dramatic pose. Stuck in the hospital for a few days with a broken leg, but twenty times longer …
Without movies. That stinks.
He is trying really hard to figure out how that example could work with a robot. Unless he’s been completely demolished by someone …
Which makes sense. But that was hard to imagine that somebody could take this robot down. Besides, shouldn’t repairs on machines be a quick thing? You fix them up, no issue - but the skunk was not a proper judge of that since he does not know his way around machines. That’s for the smarty pants nerds.
“What, did somebody completely thrash ya? Didn’t ya had this auto repair thingy?”
Agent Jack scanned the ground, checking to make sure that they either arrived here first or at least be able to ambush the apprentice. While there were no footprints, his scanners were picking up signs that the area was disturbed recently so Geoffrey might be using his magic to cover his tracks better.
"If it is, we're not alone. Someone got here before us."
He glanced up to where his fellow agent pointed out, carefully treading over to check it out.
"It's faded but my database does seem to indicate the Ixis language like the last place...lemme run it through the database to translate it."
“Just like last time, then.”
The only difference now was that Ace was not among them. He was on a mission with Elias while the twins were required elsewhere as well, but the director has put his faith that they all could handle it.
But if they are not alone, that complicates the matter. It was to be expected that the skunk was here, but they could barely handle him last time. Even so, it’s also an opportunity to find out what the apprentice (or someone else?) was up to in a place like this.
He makes sure to keep his ears sharp, just in case. It’s strangely … quiet.
Joker nods as he watches his teammate walking over, waiting for him to finish letting it run through his database.
“I really hope there aren’t any traps for this one …”
Maybe he should try to be extra careful - especially since it was him last time that set of the traps.

Here’s Rough, grinning menacing as the skunk happened to stumble across one of the best robots out there - although you wouldn’t hear him mentioning that part out loud.
Can you blame him? This one’s cool - and doesn’t give him the urge to tear him apart like most machinery.
“Where have you been? I mean - not that I was hanging around to see if you are still here - I was busy!! Retiring from the bad guy life and all that.“
He pauses.
“Kinda like you! Looks like we got that in common now.“

If the wizard wants to rebuild his order of Ixis, they needed more information about it as well. It was centuries ago, so aside from a few places, like the one they tracked Geoffrey once, there was barely anything to gather of the order.
Fortunately, the director found coordinates to a certain place that holds Ixis artifacts. It was up to the two agents to find and destroy them.
It was likely that Naugus send his apprentice here too, so they had to be even more careful.
Nobody was here and the place appears to be long forgotten, if the unsettling scenery didn’t give it away already.
He hopes there aren’t any hidden traps this time …

Today was a slow day.
So far, there was no leaping into action. Naugus was surprisingly quiet and his apprentice was not up to anything either. It is possible they may acquire valuable information today while Sir Charles attends the council meeting, but for now, they are waiting.
It feels strange to not carry out a mission right now. Larry gets it, their whole thing is to be subtle and stay hidden and perhaps the peace should be its own comfort but … he was so used to help out during missions now. It reminds him of when he was still helping out as a freedom fighter. To be a part of something again was … exciting.
With moments like this, though...
Fortunately, he has some company, which is preferable to being alone with his thoughts.
“I guess we've got a bit to pass some time, huh?"
So far, they were always so busy with the missions and trying to save the kingdom that there was barely room for a breather, but everything was ... quiet today. Too quiet.
"Is there anything you would like to do?"
Which was ... a tad difficult likely with Shard especially needing to keep a low profile regarding his past, but that does not mean they couldn't do something in the HQ. He prefers staying here anyway. It was difficult to form bonds with his jinxes, so what's the point to go where nobody wants him around?

“Oh, I’m so sorry!“
It was late at night after saving the council from the shadows. Larry remained in place as he observed his former teammates from a tree branch. It was … bittersweet. He might not be a part of them anymore, but knowing that his jinxes played a part in their safety from the troll was a relief.
Although the three ended up seperating eventually, turning in for the night, the lynx remained up there in the quiet night. So while a few hours passed until then, suddenly the tree branch broke off.
And he was falling down as well.
Landing right on a stranger.
“I - I didn’t mean to - the tree branch - are you alright?“
Thinking about how she bluntly stated that Mighty means nothing to her because of her repressed memories and how he just accepts it and gives her the space she needs, not pursue it any further and the only thing he wants to know if she is at least happy here (':
“Greetings. You may be wondering where you are and how you got here."
Smug smirk, as if he planned that somehow but then…

They were his former teammates. They all wanted to be in the council but Larry didn’t made it. It seems like instead of politics, they are just enjoying themselves here, but Larry still watches from a distance..
He can’t tell them personally that they were in danger from Naugus but he still did everything in his power to keep them safe. It’s a relief for him, but he can’t tell them what happened either and how close they were to almost getting controlled by their king. He almost lost his former friends.
