Had some fun writing a folk song. I kept the folk tradition alive by plagiarizing a melody and kept with everyone's favorite theme of gettin
I was feeling rather lowdown as I strolled through this old town
Brady Street has lost its soul
I declared and went to mourn
Nobody heard me, nobody would've cared
I'll put the blame on jocats,
But Nashville north they share some too
Well I Stopped inside of Thurmans and Bought myself two rounds
I was having quite a nice time, good conversation too
But the music wasn't quite right, thats all there is to do,
Ya know there's other dead songs I can't hear Althea twice
I followed that old one way
Down Pulaski Avenue
I met Jesus inside Wolski's and we closed it like you do
Had some fun with this one. Keeping the folk tradition alive by plagiarizing a melody. And in the vein of the best folk and country songs like "Everybody" by John Prine and "Gimme a ride to heaven boy" by Terry Allen, it's about getting hammered with the Son of God.
