I love how Karma, of all the characters in the X-Men universe, gets her chance to shine in this Wolverine series. Look at how she psychically manhandles these constitutionally paper thin Madripoor guards in order to infiltrate her uncle’s crime base. Retribution for the humility the Shadow King put her through I suppose. (Wolverine Vol. 2 #6 – Apr 1989)

John Buscema’s artwork on this Wolverine series is impeccable. Every pose is struck kinetically for the maximum amount of drama. Just look at the perspective of this cover. Amazing stuff. (Wolverine Vol. 2 #6 – Apr 1989)

At the end of the day, Roughhouse and Bloodsport go down like the couple of chumps they are. And from what I remember, they don’t really ever shine again like they did in the early part of this story. Doesn’t Roughouse get leprosy or something? I seem to remember him getting leprosy and his skin getting boils all over it and that incredibly sharp beard falling off. But before Wolverine and Jessan Hoan can bring down Karma’s crime lord boss, the Prince of Madripoor intervenes.
