Byrant listened to Robb and listened earnestly. It was not that he did not trust his friend, in fact quite the opposite. He trusted that Robb believed that he and Jeyne would end up married. And maybe maybe he would be right this time, but that was it wasn’t it? This time, this was not the first time Robb had come over to Byrant’s telling Byrant all about a girl who he was sure he was going to marry.
Most would call Robb foolish, or love sick, say he moved too fast. Byrant wasn’t sure that was the case. He thought he remembered stories about how Mr. and Mrs. Stark had met in highschool perhaps to Robb finding the love of his life, finding his wife while they were this young wasn’t out of the question. not too young a voice that sounded much like his father’s reminded him. He wouldn’t let that worry him, he wouldn’t ever find a wife, his father would have to get over him.
No, Byrant didn’t believe that Robb was foolish or love sick, not even that he moved too fast. Byrant thought he was a bit naive perhaps but that only made Byrant love his friend even more. Which only made it all the worse. He would never turn Robb away, but hearing him be so in love with this girl-
“Have you met her parents?” Byrant asked, he wanted to know the answer because he did support Robb but- sometimes he wished he could just tell Robb things weren’t going to work out. Theon had no problem being an ass to Robb about the girls Robb dated. It didn’t work like that, Byrant cared, he cared too much and let himself get hurt by it. That was how it went, so he smiled, ready to listen to Robb make wedding plans.
