today, june 4th, 2023, marks what would have been the 70th birthday of one of the most underrated musicians and guitarists of the 1970s. forced into show business at a young age, jimmy mcculloch blossomed into an incredible performer and guitarist, influencing many during and after his time. he was an actual child prodigy and probably one of those troubled genius types. he was a quiet soul who had a dark side, which i think he was absolutely entitled to given the nature of his start as a performer. it strikes me how we have never existed on the same planet at the same time, yet jimmy as a musician and as a person has touched me and so many others. his emotional playing and singing cut right through to my heart every time i hear a clip of him. happy birthday jimmy mac. i can't believe it would have been 70 years. i can't believe we still don't know what happened to you. i hope someone somewhere is smashing cake in your face. i love you.

Brian Frederick Hines, probably better known as Denny Laine, lead guitarist and core member of my favorite band, Wings, has passed away. Ever since I learned of Denny’s health issues earlier in 2023, I’ve been anticipating this, but it doesn’t make the news any less shocking. Denny helped created some of my favorite music in the world. His boisterous charm, loud personality, soulful voice and musical talent will be sorely missed in this world. I hate the fact that I had to wait for this to happen. I wish I could have gotten into Wings just a few months later so that I wouldn’t have experienced this news the way I did. Rest in peace, Denny 🕊️
does anyone know who did the guitar solo at the end of nineteen hundred and eighty five :3 if denny did indeed play it, it is one of my favorites he’s ever done
