^Breaking the status quo, and being one of the first openly gay female athletes. Still a fighter for equality and encouraging women to break the glass ceiling

^Encouraging little girls that it's okay to love and play futbol, especially in her country and a fighter for women's equality in sports.

^Breaking barriers in a sport, to be thought only for men. Anyone can coach.

^Lily Parr, for those who don't know. She played midfielder for the Dick, Kerr Ladies FC. A womens soccer club in England in the 1920s before it was illegal for women to play soccer in England

^The spark of Women's soccer all over the world. A momentous victory that changed not only the lives of those who played but little girls watching who had dreams to be up there, that stepping into a soccer field was a girls birthright.

^Playing under pressure, confident, unapologetic, loud and relentless. Not our U.S Womens National Soccer Team, but our U.S National Soccer Team because Ladies and gentlemen. These ladies are known as America's team!

“It’s hard, you know?” I say disappointed. “I love him, I look at him like he puts the stars in the skies. But he doesn’t treat me like I wasn’t there too, like I wasn’t beside him that entire time. He’s forgotten my self worth so I must remain strong and walk away with my head held high and shoulders back even though I just want to curl up and cry. I have to fight for what I truly need in my life.” I stand up and wipe a tear. I straighten up and walk away.
