Zelia love I have a question for you. I follow the Danish Royal Family on Instagram and they keep posting about some of the tiaras and I'm wondering what is going on??? Is there a new exhibit??? I try to use Instagram's translate but it doesn't help. I'm going to Copenhagen in a couple weeks (woohoo!) and if there IS an exhibit I'm going to be all over that! Thanks love!
Aw, I almost feel bad because there is indeed an exhibition called Magtens Smykker (”The Splendour of Power”) but it’s in the other end of the country from Copenhagen in Kolding at Koldinghus 😫 I’m personally so ridiculously annoyed that it’s there because I’m dying to see it (although theoretically it does makes sense because it’s in honour of the city’s 750 year anniversary) but I live in Copenhagen myself so I’d have to take a whole weekend out of the calendar to go – a weekend I do not have currently 🙄 It looks so amazing though and they’ve borrowed jewellery not only from QMII and the DRF but from the Swedish and British royal families as well 😍
I don’t know how long you’re gonna be here for but it is obviously possible to catch a train from Copenhagen to Kolding (you wouldn’t have to change trains with the InterCity train towards Esbjerg) – but the train alone is like at least two hours one way so you would have to clear out a whole day for it. For what it’s worth, it does look spectacular but just be mindful that it’s relatively far away from Copenhagen so if you’re only here for a weekend, it’s gonna probably take up a lot of your time here. Here’s Koldinghus’ website if you’re interested 😁
(Alternatively – although it isn’t as spectacular at all as far as jewellery goes (I doubt there’s gonna be any jewellery actually lmao) – my own favourite museum (and castle), Frederiksborg Castle, has an exhibition on Frederik for his 50th birthday running from 25 May. Frederiksborg Castle is in Hillerød which is less than an hour outside of Copenhagen so it’s more easily accessible than Kolding (and less expensive to get there) and the castle is absolutely gorgeous and they always have fantastic exhibitions.)
