A Start to Something New
It is said that spirituality can tell us (along with science), what we think, believe and feel actually determines the makeup of our body at the cellular level. We are in power of our emotions. If this is true, then why do we allow ourselves to be unhappy, sad or depressed? As I think back, I constantly hear my mom telling me I dictate my future, my feelings and my life; nobody else should. So here it is: I am broke. I am in college. I am unsatisfied with my major. I have no plan for my future. … You get the point. “Shit or get off the pot,” my mom’s favorite expression to suppress my bitching. As I sit here, bitching, about uncertainties in my life I’ve realized perhaps my problems have stemmed from a deeper place. But how do I fix these? Now older, yet not quite wiser, I have started to peek into the realm of spirituality. I have dabbled over a multitude of stress-relieving techniques, homeopathic supplements, herbal remedies and books of guidance. What I have found is that I am not alone in my feelings. Actually, I would go as far as to say many college students stumble over these obstacles. This blog will be used to exploit these practices, supplements, readings and relaxers. Author Chris Prentiss has spent much time researching what it takes to find our “Zen” and “happiness.” He used the phrase, “the art of happiness.” My blog, Wondrous Mind, will invite readers to learn more about spirituality and offer insight based on my reviews of different methods to relieving stress and finding inner peace. Follow me on my spiritual journey.
