To help kick off the new adoptable group my GM and I have been working on, the WoodWives group have our first character up for grabs. Titled the Lady of Thorn, this character is up for a concept contest open till the end of the month!
Come check us out at http://woodwives.deviantart.com/ and read up on the lore and contest!
Playing with different coloring and shading techniques, kind of messy this time, but it was fun. This is Robert and Luna from the Woodwives shop Torvil (Asmodeus Grims) and I set up on Devart.

Wood Wife-001 (Asmodeus Grims) by xaotl
A freind and I are working on some adoptables, I’m doing the art, and my talented GM is doing the Lore.
The Ways of the Wood
The Woodwives have a legend:
Once, there was a young woodsman, and he loved the forest. Every day - he would take his axe and venture into the woods to check his traps, and chop wood for the village. He was a kind man, and he always thanked the animals he killed, and always asked the trees for permission and forgiveness when he cut them down.
The Wood recognized the goodness in the young man’s heart. The Nymph of The Wood came to the man, disguised as a beautiful woman, wearing a finely woven cloak she had crafted from the finest spider’s silk and fresh dew. The man fell in love instantly, and The Nymph of The Wood returned with him to his village. The two were wed - and the Nymph remained at the village while her husband returned to the forest every day to ply his trade.
The Nymph imparted her knowledge of The Ways of The Wood to the women of the village. For she and the man could have no children - for she was a Creature of the Wood - and he was from the Land of Men. The man grew old - and eventually he returned to the earth. The Nymph, mourned for her mortal husband - and removed her cloak, revealing her true self to the village.
The villagers were shocked, but they had accepted her as one of their own - and so they mourned with the Nymph, who shared one last piece of knowledge with the women of the village. She taught each of them the art of weaving magic into their cloth. With this final gift, the Nymph returned to The Wood, never to be seen again.
The women of the village became the first Woodwives. Or so the legend tells.
As time wore on - Woodwives became those who knew The Ways of The Wood. They had The Sight - the ability to see the world beyond the Lands of Men. Some were born with it, and others… Others got their ability to see from The Wood itself - after having come into contact with it.
Anyone can become the apprentice of a Woodwife. But the Woodwives know those that have the sight - and those that do not. Those who lack The Sight are taught what they are able to learn, and then they are allowed to return to their lives - a little wiser perhaps, to the ways of the world. For those with The Sight, the world is opened up for them, and they will soon find that The World is a far more dangerous place than they first thought...
A WIP for Woodwives, this one is our first release for the Sorcerer class.
