Been hearing myself get a ton better at singing lately because I have been singing more often and exercising my voice. Unfortunately due to the wildfires near my area, the air is Horrible and it hurts to breathe since I am asthmatic. I advise all of you to stay indoors. Especially if you sing or are sensitive to the air quality. With all due seriousness, though, It is unfortunate that so many have passed due to the Woolsey fires and many more are still unaccounted for... and the air the valley is breathing is what remains of all the precious souls that left us and the belongings of those who are still with us. I feel for you, guys. I send my love to you all... hopefully this, too, shall pass as every fire somehow does. And hopefully somehow we can figure out a way to better prevent something like this from occurring again... :(. Hopefully the continued love and support for those involved who need help continues to grow. California needs help now more than ever. Not our usual kind of sticker design or post but Anna & I got this design made by the friendly folks at @stickermule when they did the sticker sheet offer recently. Anyway, with all the challenging times here in California this past week or so, I figured this might be a good time to post this one. And no we're not personally in any fire danger here in the city of Ventura (let's hope it stays that way), but if you are a praying person don't forget to say some for the folks giving service in both fighting the fires and those victim to the fires in the county here and elsewhere in California. Also if you can, there are other ways like financial or donations to organizations set up to help out. My sister & her family lost everything in a house fire yesterday. 177 houses burned to the ground in the #WoolseyFires in Southern California, and theirs was one of them. I am safe. However, the devastation is EPIC. The air is thick with the smell of everything burning. Ash is falling from the sky. It's as if we're in Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius. I've never seen anything like this in the 20 years since I moved to LA from #HTX in 1999. (Think of it like #HurricaneHarvey but with fire. Both horrific.) Police sirens, firetrucks, ambulances & helicopters fly above constantly. Fortunately, I live in #DelRey; the center of the Beach Communities. 1.7 miles from the Ocean. Gorgeous, but still too close as the wind blows debris around. Windows & doors must be kept closed. People & Pets inside. My ears, nose & throat are stinging. ● ● As the #woolseyfires are tackled by brave firefighters, first responders & volunteers dedicated to humanity, both sides of the fire and inland are affected. Literally I should just say LA by the time it's done. We need rain to happen NOW. ● ● The folks just North of me on the PCH and inland are the most hard hit with mandatory evacuations, disaster and tragedy. ● ● (Del Rey is just to the South. Close enough as the winds blow to have the gruesome affects of dreadful air and weather quality. Lord knows how far the wind will spread it around. After Malibu, it's Topanga, Palisades, Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey; then Del Rey in the lineup. Less than 1 mile from me and South around the corner is Playa Vista; newly crowned Silicon Beach; El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa, Redondo, Palos Verdes Hamlets all the way down to the OC and San Diego.) Check your maps. Not kidding. ASHES IN THE AIR. ● ● Respiratory issues are intensely rampant along with the physical, emotional, financial and Spiritual upheaval and Loss of Life. ● ● #TraderJoes on Palms & #Sepulveda gave us masks to drive home with. Between this and the bizarre shootings the other night, we absolutely need immediate Assistance for Our People, Pets and Support for our First Responders & Volunteers with CLEAR, ORGANIZED SOLUTIONS NOW.
