Survival of the Weakest.
There are days,
Where I don’t feel right.
I wake up catapulted into a war,
with myself.
My body does not cooperate, everything is heavy.
My heart is beating in my head.
My heart is beating in my head.
I want to flee.
To the cozy comforts of another being’s body,
that is working as it’s supposed to.
The Bible states you shouldn’t covet other’s goods.
Just for the day.
Just for a night.
I don’t know if I can find normalcy these days.
Swinging on a pendulum,
my body is not moving with the centrifical force.
During these times,
I am tested.
I struggle, beautifully.
It will be beautiful, it has to be beautiful.
Because on these days,
Where all odds are against me.
I become a warrior.
Do I want to give into my body’s demands for rest and patience?
Do I want to give up the opportunities I have been gifted?
Physically, no.
I concur that I must.
Mentally, I know my body was conceived to stay alive.
As long as my mind does.
I push through.
Spinning and ricocheting,
Taking each minute and each hour as it’s own.
Each day, and each week,
Not as an accomplishment,
To be judged as a win or a loss.
But an existence.
I am surviving.
I will stop saying “I can’t pull this off this time”,
And begin saying “I will survive”
