hi, my name's iris and i'd like to request kiyoharu pls ^^ i could use some of his brotherly wisdom. thing is my little brother and i used to be very close but lately we've been drifting apart. and that makes me sad, but more than that i'm also worried about his behaviour lately. he's been slacking off on his schoolwork and his grades have dropped. he's also always leaving the house without permission lately and he doesn't tell me or my mom where he's going. he's 16 so i figure he's just (1/2)

going thru his rebellious teen phase (lord knows i went thru mine :P) but yeah, i’m just worried about him. he won’t listen to anything i have to say cuz he thinks i’m nagging him about school, but it’s not JUST about that. i am worried about his grades too cuz he used to be so motivated and hardworking, wanting to be a doctor and all. but now i’m worried he might be getting in with the wrong crowd, and i just don’t know what to say to him to make him understand. i miss my best friend. :( (2/2)

“Hello, Iris. Sorry to hear about your brother.” He said as he took a seat.

“Brothers can be hard to deal with. Take a looks at mine for further example.” He said with a tiny smile.

”We can not just know what they think about 24/7. Your brother is 16 and I understand why you are so worried about him” he said with a tinge of woried in his voice ”he is a sophomore or junior in high school and colleges look at the grades from both those years. And you want him to get to a good university or medical school.”

“ If you don’t mind, do you want to take a walk in the club’s garden” he said as he offered a hand to you. You took his hand timidly, as both of you walked around the garden he listened to your worries. Kiyoharu decided to take a seat near a marble bench under a blooming white flowered tree.

“Why don’t you try approaching him in a different way,” Kiyoharu said as he let took a deep breath. “don’t mention anything about grades. Your brother might already see that his grades are not the best and feels disappointed in himself or that he is disappointing you/your mom, that feeling of disappointment can make him a bit aloof especially because he has addressed the fact that he would like to be a doctor.” He pause for a moment thinking of other ways he could help.

“Maybe talk to him about his ambitions, or ask he wants to be a doctor anymore. Or just ask if he would like to talk, while doing something fun and if he does not just tell him that you will be there whenever he wants to talk. If you guys do have the talk tell him that no matters what he decides you will be there to listen and support him, because you just want to see him happy. Don’t pressure him into talking to you, he will do it when he is ready.”

“As well, if it helps remind yourself of what it feels to be that age, maybe you could help you understand him. And try some of the strategies with him that helped you get through those teenage years.”

“Iris best of luck with your brother. I will be rooting for him to become a doctor and you never know, he might become the best”
