Five minutes. You have five minutes to shower, do your makeup and grab your presentation ‘for the big guys’. You work in marketing and have a huge pitch today. Small problem though, you were so nervous for it you might have gone out drinking last night. And you might have ended up in some guys bed. Whoopsie. You ran out of his apartment this morning, doing the run of shame instead of the walk - nobody has time for walking - and are now trying to at least look alright for today. This was a very bad idea...
“Morning. I have an appointment for a pitch”. You are still out of breath for hurrying so much today. The lady behind the reception smiles at you, not at all looking like she sees anything wrong about you and the makeup you did in the metro over here, and gives you directions to the lift. “Fifth floor is where you should be. The big glass room. But my colleague on the fifth floor will help you find it. Good luck.” “Thank you”, you smile at her, taking her instructions.
The doors open and you feel a brick drop in your stomach. That lovely colleague that will show you the way? Yeah, that’s the guy you know owns a red couch since this morning. You also knows what he looks like under the very fine suit he’s currently rocking. He smirks at you. “Is this why you were in a rush this morning?”, he asks as soon as he is close enough so no one else can hear. You stick your hand out. “Hi, pleasure to meet you too. I’m [your name], here for the pitch?” He smiles. “Fine. Please follow me.” He starts walking down the hallway, with you chasing him. “I’m [your celebrity crush]. The head of marketing here.” “Oh for f-, is there even a point of me staying?” “I keep my private and work strictly separated. If you have a good idea, I don’t see why we couldn’t work together.” He stops in front of a door and motions you to get in. Right as you cross him, he mutters, “we would have to work very closely together though. Odd hours, long hours. Just you and me. Think you can handle it?” You ignore him and start setting up your laptop. “We’d be ready to go in about ten minutes”, you say, not meeting his eye. “I’ll get the team”.
You’re back to cleaning your stuff up and have everyone leave the office again. Everyone, except [your celebrity crush]. “I’m gonna need you to come to my office.” You roll your eyes, ready to say no, when he adds, “to sign some paperworks.” He smiles at you. “Don’t make everything so dirty, darling.” You want to rebut, but don’t really know how. After walking behind him, trying so hard to not look at his behind, he leads you into an office space, and closes the blinds of the window the second you walk in. “Relax. It’s a business deal. It’s my way of letting people know I’m occupied.” You walk ahead, taking the room in. Not only has he got a huge desk with multiple screens, he also has a little living area with two couches and a table and a pool table if you walk up a small staircase. “Oh my god, it’s huge.” “Thanks.” Rolling your eyes, you ask, “is this your own office?” He nods. “I need my space to think. Please sit down at the desk.” You do as he says and watch him move to the other side. The blinds are down, no one would be able to see what you’d do... No. Stop it. Business. He opens a drawer. “So, if we do pick your idea, and I do need to discuss all the options with my team, and I have another party come in tomorrow, I need to make sure your idea was actually yours. Can you fill in the paperwork?” He lays it down in front of you, with a pen and you start filling out the questions. This isn’t uncommon territory for you, so you feel a little at ease. Though the burning eyes on you aren’t really helping. “I like the dress on you”, he says, making you forget you were writing in the first place. “What happened to keeping private and work separate?”, you ask, getting back to the paperwork. “I’m just giving you a compliment.” “Hmm, sure. Anyway, here’s your paperwork done and signed”. You push it towards him. “Need anything else?” “Just this one”. He walks over to you and pushes one side of your dress off your shoulder, revealing the love bite he left there last night. You close your eyes, and feel him softly kiss the exact same spot. “I like this on you more.” “Work! Private!”, you squeal, getting out of the seat, pushing your dress back. “I don’t need anything work related from you anymore. Not right now. But I do need all these other things.” He pauses, before adding, “Right now.” “I left before breakfast. I think I was pretty clear in what I wanted.” “Yes. You wanted to win a pitch. But that part is done now. Now, I want you.” Feeling your breath get stuck in your throat, you smile at him. “Well, I don’t want you. Sorry ‘bout that. I’m going to go now.” He nods. “Okay. If that’s what you want... I can’t argue with that. I will just contact you about the deal.” “Yes. Please.” You walk past him, laying your hand softly on his chest as you do so. He watches your move and knows perfectly well you’re teasing him. Grabbing your bag, you quickly turn and walk back to him. “I’d like to hear from you”, you smile, stretching your hand again. He takes it, making it easy for you to pull him in and kiss him. He reciprocates eagerly, taking your bag from your hand and putting it back down, before taking you in both arms. “I don’t want to jeopardize my possibility of getting the job”, you breath. “I always keep work and private separated. Besides, I’m not even the one making the call.” “Seriously?” “Nope”. “Oh. Well. Then can we go somewhere for breakfast? Your place perhaps?”
