I'll be 28 soon and
10 years of adulthood and I still get treated like a 12 year old
I am still working a job that promptly stopped letting me use my skills at the first opportunity
Just keep cashing the checks, people say. A job is a job
I have no friends or close family and likely never will. I'm not supposed to miss my family or want friends. People say they don't have any friends, but their phones go off constantly with invitations and just saying hi
I cannot see any meaningful steps I can take to change any of this
I do not want to live under these conditions.
I am having Bad Thoughts and the Bad Thoughts are giving me nausea. Running calls distracts me and relieves the symptoms, and so does any other sufficiently distracting activity, so I know the nausea is all in my head. I am off work for the next two days and have nothing to do unless someone calls off and I can pick up the shift. I kind of want to tell someone about the Bad Thoughts, but dumping that steaming pile of entrails on a coworker would be unfair and it's work-specific stuff so I can't tell civilians.
AND I got a surprise schedule change and now I have to work tomorrow. It's not like my plans for tomorrow consisted of anything more than couch naps and not cleaning up around here but still.
Lotsa fucky calle today
Lonely amd boring
Partner asked what's the most messed up call I've been on and like dude you are so young and new no asky.
Vodka fix all tho.
I'm serious after the last year I am owed one (1) supportive work environment with nice coworkers and supervisors who are not either total weenies, total psychopaths, or a bizarre but very impressive combination of both. I feel like this is a reasonable expectation.
Despair
I missed another IV I am sick and tired of being a bad stick I want to be able to help patients this way but I can't and I'm sick of ppl saying oh everyone misses a stick once in a while no I miss ALL OF THEM! I HAVE A PROBLEM! And I can't fix it because no one believes me! Sometimes I feel like it's just luck and I drew bad stick out of the cosmic hat and will always be one but I don't want that!
Do any healthcare people know if there's such a thing as IV remedial? Is there a class or a job where people consistently come out really good?
