What an honor
Today was a pretty typical day for us, except that we met the leader of one of the worker's movement in China with Gui Jun. This man was chosen to represent his fellow workers against the company that they worked for. This company had decided to move to a cheaper place and needed to get rid of its workers. The workers didn't get enough compensation for being laid off, only about 20% of the original amount. Zhu GUI Jun represented the workers of the factory to fight for their rights and compensation. They publicly demonstrated until Zhu Gui jun was arrested and charged as disturbing the peace. He was sentenced 5 years in jail but only served one and had just recently been released. It was amazing being able to meet such a brave individual, who risked himself for a greater cause. The cause of his fellow workers, and his people. -Jerome
