Sometimes being a guide dog means just hanging around! Here I am keeping mom company while she exercises :) A very special part of my job also involves accompanying mom to her work where she helps disabled children. Not only do I guide mom, but I get to make children happy too! I'm always good and calmly stay by her side, sometimes she will even let them pet my head~

Watching a working Guide Dog

I absolutely love watching Rivers work. It's so cool to see him signal for curbs and steps and stuff. Yesterday, there was a low hanging branch , but Rivers didn't notice it, causing his handler to run into it. It was just a small twig basically. So his handler backed up a few steps and walked under the branch again, he still didn't signal. She finally grabbed and shook the branch so he'd see it. Finally, she backed up again, and he signaled the branch for her. It was so cool too see it in action. It's so good too see exactly what's expected of our pups in training, and to see that even working guides still need occasional training reminders
