God I love the trope where whumpee has fucked up in some way and so they try to make it up to Caretaker/Whumper by being a model citizen. They work themselves to the bone, they never question orders, they are obedient to a T. Of course this ends after they collapse several times and the person they wronged realizes that they really are sorry and meant it when they said that.
