You know he’s not going to go to school, right?  And will have a normal middle name if he wants to use that.

The baby has been born and named (Koios Matthias Blume), but I guess it’s always possible I will have the same problem again in five years.  Corin’s an okay name but not great.

i'd say i wish your child comes out neurotypical but that would be cruel to wish on them

Honestly, my two year old is weirdly good at reading facial expressions and he does pretend play like a champ and is very motivated by attention from other people; if he didn’t sometimes line up a bunch of toys in a row for fun and have occasional echolalia I’d think there was something the matter.

I wonder if it matters to anybody’s assessments of my naming habits that the two little boys Merlin’s been on playdates with, who are from our geographic location and roughly his age but not rationalist kids or anything, have been named “Orion” and “Sage”.

tbh I'd name that kid Two. I can culturally justify it though, idk about you
