♫ five times my muse swears it’s not a date, and the one time it maybe is.
1 -They’d met up for coffee at a nice little place Paul knew, sitting at a table in the corner and chatting away over their cups. John was good company and fun to hang out with, and Paul had been glad to made plans to meet up again. 'You went for coffee?’ one of his friends had asked incredulously. ‘Yeah. It was just coffee.’ The look they’d given Paul made him roll his eyes. ‘It was just coffee.’
2 -The second time they got coffee, it was more relaxed, more casual as they got to know each other better. Despite the age difference, they had a good deal in common. Paul still just rolled his eyes whenever his friends commented on his coffee ‘dates’.
3 -John and Paul went out for drinks, hanging out and alternating between people watching and joking around. Before he’d even realized it, the bar was closing and they were being rushed out, both of them laughing.
4 -Pizza and movies was a great plan. Paul picked the first movie, but before it was even halfway over, he had fallen asleep on the couch. Poor John had to show himself out.
5 -In an effort to make up for falling asleep, Paul invited John out with him to a science museum, spending the day running around, either being dragged or dragging him to different exhibits.
Movie night take-2 saw the two of them at Paul’s place, Paul stretched out on the couch, John sitting on the floor in front of him. The older of the two of them looked down at where the younger was sitting, a small smile on his lips. And it was then that he realized maybe, just maybe, there was something more to it than just two friends hanging out...
