Here are some #worklooks I've had since returning to the salon. 👀 . Three months in #quarantine was the longest hiatus I've taken from doing hair in my entire 12 year career. I thought I had my #impostersyndrome in check by now, but I literally feared I was going to forget everything. 🙈 . You know what's really difficult to forget? Lived experience. 🤦🏻♀️ . Sure I was a little out of practice but not for long. Where I was the MOST out of practice was Social Skills. That's right, I had gone completely feral and forgot how to talk to people. But it was okay because everyone else did too. 👽 . It's still a little weird finding stuff to talk about, most of us have been up to even less activity than usual... I talk about my involvement with the BLM protests & livestreamer @imhiramg , because it's the most interesting thing I've been doing (and it's important). ✊🏾 . But mostly the conversation I have with my clients focuses on #selfcare ; how they have been coping, wisdom gained from the clarity of the moment, and things we appreciate from 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘉𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 that we are eager to see return... like hugs. 🤗 . I knew about #skinhunger before but it's wild to see people experiencing it on a mass scale now. For many, I was the first person that touched them. Even I have more reverence for my position in society now than I did before (and I already thought pretty highly of hairdressers). 💆🏻♀️ . All of this is to say... 🐛 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨. 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. 𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 🦋 (at Freakflag by iana) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEwiIpflMj1/?igshid=1belxb296u4gx
