Workman Tries Things: BBQ

I finally tried Bar-b-que for the first time in my life at Freedmen’s in Austin, Texus. I really had no idea what to expect aside from something "spicy". Before you ask 'You’ve never tried BBQ ribs? chicken? pork?" or whatever. No. I've literally never tasted anything BBQ aside from BBQ potato chips once. And yes, I grew up in the south and I am aware that it is weird.

Poutine w/braised short ribs

One of few things I had been very excited to try. For the last 6 months or more I have been looking for this. Considering it is a French Canadian dish and nearly impossible to find unless you are in Canada or the extreme northern U.S. I lucked out a bit finally tracking it down. 

Note: If anyone is offended by my way of describing it, I am sorry. We had been drinking a bit prior and the food also really was amazing.

Workman Tries Things #7: Duck

Better yet BBQ duck. I don't know if that is the same as regular BBQ or not. The reason? Even though I grew up in the south, it seems that I have never tried BBQ anything. Well, BBQ potato chips maybe. 

So, for my first trip to Chinatown, and first time using chopsticks, I get to eat my very first duck.
