Finally... a 3-day weekend!!! After 2 weeks of fighting for my life against the flu while juggling official business, site visits and office work, bumigay na talaga health ko. Combine that with the bipolar weather here in Cebu... mainit ngayon, ulan mamaya and I am officially hitting the force restart button.
Pero honestly, what kept me going throughout the fever and the fatigue were the absolute cinematic randomness of the people I met along the way. Sometimes I just sit there and wonder... are we all living in the same reality? 😂😂😂
I remember traveling and talking to this one guy about the road conditions here... the endless asphalt vs. cement debate and those pending tunnel projects since the pandemic. Sayang talaga yung budget, 'di ba? But his solution? - Dapat ipalabas yung mga preso, ikadena silang lima-lima para maglinis ng kalsada para bawas sentensya! I was like... Sir, are you sure? Paano kung tumakas, eh malay ba natin kung killer or rapist yan? He just looked at me like ako yung walang logic and insisted na basta may pulis at mahabang kadena, okay na raw yun. I just couldn't absorb it! 😅😅😅 Then there was this woman applying Omega liniment who seriously asked me if pwede raw ba iyon inumin. I literally burst out laughing thinking she was joking but she was dead serious! To top it off, another guy tried to convince me that weighing scales give different results on the ground floor versus the 15th floor because of gravity. Like... sir, I’m pretty sure it’s just the lechon I had for lunch not the altitude! I don’t want to judge them ha because their innocence is actually kind of cute and refreshing but it’s just so fascinating how their minds work! It’s like living in a sitcom while having a fever dream. Anyway, I’m officially OFF DUTY. Time to hibernate for 72 hours straight and let my body heal. No road talks, no gravity theories and please... for the love of God, don't drink the liniment! 😂😅😫
