I'm investing in Office Desk Hand Cream in the hopes that it will help slow the office soap destroying my hands.
Tbh, I initially went looking for like, a tiny pump bottle of less awful soap, but this didn't seem prevalent in the travel or soap sections of my local chemist.
I think part of the problem is cheap horrid soap, and part of the problem is that my skin hates seasonal changes, and part of the problem is that I wash my hands a lot at the office because everyone is constantly fucking sick.
So now we're trying Office Desk Hand Cream so I can stop accidentally bleeding on documents.
Hii I just wanted to pop in and say I love your art, especially Office Lady Goat! She's so squishy and beautiful <3
thank you anon!!! her name is Missy, and sometimes I have to remind my inner voice that people like my work :))) I hope I'll be drawing lots of her this year because my job is a shitshow and everyone should see
There’s an actor who my husband and I only refer to as “Dave Scott’s brother.”
You see, before this actor became a household name, we worked with his brother Dave, who is quite a good computer programmer. They look almost identical, except one has male pattern baldness and looks kinda beaten down by the corporate world.
Very similar to this - in fact Severance is the most that Adam has ever looked like Dave, and I kinda wondered if he used his brother’s job as inspiration at all.
But I worked with Dave from about 2002-2010, so this is more how Dave Scott’s brother looked at the time:
This is from the first show I saw him in, a short lived drama no one remembers called Tell Me You Love Me. Dave was super excited to tell us about it because his bro had a really prominent role in an HBO show - with the caveat that it can be a little uncomfortable to watch because of all the content about sex lives. I think the first scene is the character’s wife giving him a hand job… 🙈
I found an anecdote from Dave Scott’s brother about how ridiculous the fake 🍌was to work with (scroll down to story 8):
From his first fleeting TV guest spot on the forgotten MTV series Dead at 21 through his current stint as Ben Wyatt on Parks and Recreation,
It was a really good show! I was super impressed with his acting, really subtle and layered. These characters are trying to conceive while having relationship issues, and the moment his wife tells him they’re pregnant - the way his face tries to be happy and excited when he’s clearly just…not… chef’s kiss.
I told Dave how much I liked that scene, and he admitted he wasn’t caught up. Maybe it’s a bit weird watching your brother sometimes, proud as you are 😜
Of course, once Dave Scott’s brother got into comedy, he got big.
Possibly the most endearing and relatable of his characters, we love how completely geeky Ben is. The Cones of Dunshire episode…
👏👏👏
Fun fact, characters named Ben are almost always antagonistic, or at least a bit of a jerk. Dave Scott’s brother has another small but memorable part as a lovable Ben in Six Feet Under:
So sweet 🥹 Too bad David broke his heart…
Long before ’Step Brothers’ and ’Party Down,’ Adam Scott played a love interest for Michael C. Hall in ’Six Feet Under.’
So yeah, it’s been really enjoyable seeing this Santa Cruz kid do so well, and now every time I remember my time working in tech with Dave, I can’t help but picture this:
