Writing progress: (25/09/17)

My bf and I struggled to come up with an interesting plot for our solarpunk short story, and decided to call it a night. We played a videogame and, when he was brushing his teeth and I was cleaning my makeup brushes, I came up with the plot idea we needed. So, you know, sometimes all you need is a couple of lost Overwatch games, some frustration and a pinch of exhaustion.

I can’t wait to test this idea. But today we have an important funeral to attend, so it’s gonna be hard to focus on writing.

Writing progress update: you know what’s wonderful? writing manuals. Like, the good ones. I am currently reading Dara Marks’ Inside Story: The Power of the Transformational Arc and let me tell you, I can’t recommend it enough.

My new habit consists of studying it and then starting to work on my story creation process. Like, I study for an hour/ half an hour and then start writing. And it works! I’ve done a character analysis of the fatal flaws of the three main characters of the novel I’m working on and oooh boy is it wonderful. Everything is clearer now and the three protagonists are just more interesting. Stuck in development hell? Try this method!

On one hand, holy shit I got asked to write a short story for an anthology and it’s the first time it happens to me holy shit

On the other, I can’t find a satisfying plot to save my life fuck fuck fuck.

Writing update 11/11/17

I considered doing NaNoWriMo this year but... nope. The truth is, I am, at heart, a planner, and will always be. I have to yet hear a decent argument against planning, seriously. I’m not doing NaNo because the planning of my story is not complete yet, and it may take a while to be finished (it should be done by the end of the month). I love where the story is going and I can’t wait to finish the hard part so I can focus on the smaller details, like worldbuilding and such.

Writing update 18/10/17

I’ve been writing a lot lately and I am super satisfied tbh. I wrote a short story of which I am very satisfied of, and now I’m working on the first draft of my solarpunk short story.

Basically, being productive feels good!

Writing progress update (6/10/17):

I haven’t written anything this week so far, it feels weird and I can’t wait to get back to writing. The reason for this unintended hiatus? I work freelance, and I recently got a decent amount of work to do, and with very tight deadlines, so I gave priority to all that money earning stuff.

I have managed to find some time to read, and to study a writing manual, so I am not fully disappointed about this week so far.

Writing progress update:

My bf and I managed to find some time to write (well, we’re still in the plot creation phase) yesterday evening, even though he was visiting his parents and we were both tired. I’m kinda satisfied of the results, and I look forward to write some more today.

Now I’m gonna try to write a short story I have in mind... But I also have to read first. You can’t be a good author if you don’t read a lot, kids.
