Get ready to experience a unique kind of buffet experience as Six Doors BBQ Buffet has just opened its doors at the Uptown Place Mall in Bonifacio Global City. The Hungry Kat was invited to a media preview of this new restaurant and I was really curious to see its new quirky theme. The restaurant calls itself as the country’s first 3D dining experience and guests will soon discover what makes Six Doors different from all the other buffet restaurants in the city.
Six Doors 3D BBQ Buffet is the first table mapping projection and 3D dining experience in the Philippines. It combines the world’s finest cuisines and technology bringing to your table an exciting gastronomical journey amidst the world’s beautiful places. It will be the first buffet restaurant to offer 3D element features starting from the 3D reception, the 3D inspired stage, and 3D table mapping projections inside their VIP rooms. Want to see how all of these work? Let’s find out.
Six Doors BBQ Buffet’s stylish and elevated dining experience was conceptualized in Singapore by a group of seasoned restaurateurs and industry experts who are now making their presence felt in the Philippines. The spacious restaurant can be found on the second floor of Uptown Mall and boasts of a staggering 228-seating capacity.
The dining area has a cozy feel with its contemporary interiors, dominated with warm and calming colors accentuated with hardwood. The restaurant was brought here by the Kungfu Master Cooking Group, Inc. which also owns and operates Olivia & Co., a cafe located on the same floor inside the mall.
I wasn’t able to personally attend the media launch because I was still vacationing in Bali at that time, but I did visit the restaurant with my girlfriends during its soft opening this week to experience its 3D barbecue buffet.
Six Doors also offers private function rooms which can accommodate around 10 to 40 diners. It’s perfect for business meetings, conferences, birthday parties, receptions and the like because the large function rooms also feature audiovisual capabilities.
There’s a small children’s play area as well where you can keep the kids busy so you can concentrate on getting more food from the buffet.
But the main highlight at Six Doors BBQ Buffet is their magical train which will take you on a stunning journey. Behind these six doors are actually the six special VIP rooms which offer a Butler Style Service and an exclusive premium menu selection in a thematic set-up that will truly bring each diner to another world.
Each room can accommodate up to 6 guests who will all dine surrounded by a 3D audio visual wonderland. There are different themes and locales in each VIP room but they are all stunning indeed.
The rooms also feature a 3D table mapping function where the entire table comes alive with colorful images and characters. It’s like dining inside the world of Alice in Wonderland. An exclusive 8-course meal will be served solely for VIP guests and in addition, they can also get food and dishes from the buffet outside.
The public dining area is also quite entertaining because it features a 3D capable stage that can transform into a giant touch-screen aquarium. Children will love playing with the fishes before or after their trips to the buffet.
During dinner service, the stage can also play host to shows and performances. An entertainment lineup is available at 7:00pm and 8:00pm with the OPM Hitmen singing their classic melodies for the guests during the media preview. The Grand Opening of Six Doors BBQ Buffet will be on December 5 and it will have Mikey Bustos and The Voice Male performing on stage with prizes and giveaways to guests.
Aside from all the entertainment, it’s the buffet that is most important in any restaurant. Guests can choose from hundreds of daily offerings at Six Doors with a variety of European, Asian and Brazilian dishes. Start at the appetizers section with a selection of salads, fruits, canapes, and these elegant Baked Oysters which are almost too pretty to eat.
The Bread station doesn’t just have breads that you can place inside the toaster, it also has a Flying Cake station where guests could actually see how this cooking style is done. Try the Banana Flying Cake and the Red Bean Cake which you can dip in a curry sauce.
The Japanese station is always one of my favorite areas and here you can find an assortment of sushi, sashimi, rolls, maki, and more.
The Salmon Cheese Maki are really good, while the Ebi Tempura is also always a popular choice.
At the Chinese station, the most notable and colorful item is the Purple Potato Bao, but don’t forget all the delicious Hakao, pork siomai, chicken feet, and other dimsum that you can get. There is also a hotpot area which holds a variety of ingredients for your warm hotpot bowl.
There is a good selection of other cooked dishes on the buffet lineup to choose from. These will be changing daily and among the items you can find include the Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Beef Rendang, Paella, Deep Fried Crabs, and more.
Of course, the highlight of Six Doors BBQ Buffet’s food lineup are their barbecue items which are all laid out on the table. Choose your preferred meats and seafood and just put them all on your plate. There’s thinly sliced beef, pork, chicken, prawns, squid, crabs, vegetables, and even salmon.
Each table comes with its own grill so you can just cook your own meats and seafood as you prefer. There is minimal smoke from the grill, because of the good exhaust system, so you won’t have to worry about the smell sticking to your clothes.
One more feature of Six Doors is their churrasco grilling station. This Brazilian-style barbecue has chunks of savory meat placed on the skewers. The servers will be roaming around the dining area with their skewers or carving station and offering these to the guests, so you don’t hanve to stand up.
The buffet comes with unlimited beverages as well, and this includes juices, sodas, coffee, tea, and even imported beers on tap. You can have unlimited glasses of Hoegaarden beers which is really a great value.
To top it all off, there’s also a wine section boasting a grand and bold collection of red wines, white wines, and rosée wines. Not just that, guests can also request for unlimited cocktails and the bar man can create your desired concoction just for you.
Don’t forget about the desserts, because Six Doors comes with some of the cutest dessert items you can find in a buffet. These marshmallows are so cute that I want to just bring them home.
Even the cakes and pastries come topped with character designs which makes them even more delicious. Kids and kids-at-heart will love all these sweet and colorful options.
The restaurant also has their own Birthday Promo 1+1 where the birthday celebrant gets their buffet for free on their exact birthday, as long as he or she dines with a full paying guest. Group Dining discounts are also available and you can also be a part of Six Door’s loyalty program and earn cashback every time you dine.
Six Doors BBQ Buffet rates are at P859 per person for weekday lunch and P1390 per person for weekday dinners and weekends. A 5% service charge is added to the bill. For the VIP Rooms, you can book the room with a minimum of four full paying guests at P4,500 per person. It’s a bit expensive, but there is no other dining experience quite like it anywhere in the country. Make sure to visit Six Doors BBQ Buffet once they open in December and try out their unique 3D dining buffet.
