My Hawkes

I’ve been playing DAI in little half-hour spurts the past couple nights; I can’t do any big missions or new area exploration that way, but I’ve been working on personal quests! I started Sera’s and Josephine’s a couple nights ago, continued Josephine’s last night, and intend to work on it again tonight.

It’s interesting, because Josephine’s quest presents the Inquisitor with a choice--her methods or Leliana’s. And normally, Ulcha would prefer Leliana’s method (assassins) over Josephine’s (political maneuvers). But in this case, she’s very eager to try Josephine’s methods, a little bit because of her crush, a  lot more because it’s Josephine’s problem and her right to solve it, and most of all because it sounds like a lot of her techniques are ones that Ulcha never had the chance to use before, and she wants to learn. The Carta would have assassinated or blackmailed, because while they had internal politics, they aren’t part of “respectable” high society. But it’s been made clear to her that she is part of that world, now, as the Inquisitor, and she needs to learn how to handle it. If she’s learning from, and helping out, the ambassador she happens to be fond of, all the better... but that’s really not her primary motivation at all.

Worldstate 1: Blue Surana

“….Too loud.” (She has no fear of them, but because of her susceptibility to sensory overload, she prefers to end them fast. She will avoid fighting them if possible as the roaring can quickly overwhelm her.)

Worldstate 1: Helios Adaar

A shaky breath is released as bright crimson eyes follow the beast flying overhead. The beating of wings are in sync with the thump of the qunari’s heart and a slow grin forms on his face. He runs a hand through his long blonde hair and declares boldly but resolutely, “I’m gon’ ride one.”

From behind him, the firm protest of Cassandra Pentaghast rings out, “ABSOLUTELY NOT.”

The inquisitor laughs heartily and pats the Seeker on the shoulder, “Don’t worry, darlin. You can come too.” 

“Ugh.”

Onyx:  What would your OC consider their biggest mistake?

Worldstate 2: Henley Hawke

“I have never done anything wrong, ever, in my life. Tell them, Varric.”

The dwarf just stares for a moment before sighing. “….Well, everything you do is deliberate, Princess. And without regret. So,” the tone is exasperated but unmistakably affectionate. “I guess that counts as ‘no mistakes’.”

Worldstate 2: Xiaofan Cadash

The question evokes a long pause. A hand drifts unconsciously over her abdomen where she once carried a life, a young life cut almost unbearably short. When she finally speaks her words are distant and cold. “Overestimating the loyalty of others.. and not prioritizing the life that was most precious.”
