Two significant days just passed: #Endangeredspeciesday & #Worldtarotday My journey has led me to present the world’s great avian diversity at risk interpreted through the spiritual and symbolic form of tarot. Scientific research helps us to grasp that we are in the onset of an extinction level event that puts 75% of the Earth’s biodiversity at risk. I can’t imagine a day without birds! Recognize our interconnected ecosystems and that it is up to us to protect life. Find your own inspiration and be dedicated. Do a bit of the essential good work every day. My inking brought this plate to life. I focused on weaponized details like the trumpeter swan person’s retractable wings with serrated feather tips used for foraging. This bird person grew a feathered texture and more sculptural body to emphasize movement. And the Oxenfly (Ox + Firefly) anthropomorphic hybrid took flight, pulling back to warn of the quickly approaching precipice like a conservation effort.
