1st July 1348 death of Joan of England, daughter of Edward III. During the summer of 1348, she left England with a large retenue, in order to marry Peter of Castile. Both Wycliffe and Hus were condemned for heresy by the Church at Constance. Wycliffe, having dying in 1384, was disinterred from his grave and his remains burnt and thrown into a river. Hus was burned while alive, and his ashes were also thrown into a river. Hus’s execution sparked the Hussite Wars, against the papacy between 1419–1434.
