“Going on an adventure, be back shortly.”
A GOOD BOY!
“I have obtained the sweet nectar juice from the local doughnut shop that dunks them. Not sponsored.”
A good find!!
Hello, little one! I’ve got just the terrarium for you!
day 71 of worm adventures:
worms are through all but the biggest pieces of food from last week! they’re also making a serious dent on those still-decomposing daikon peels. it’s crazy how many tiny baby worms there are! it’s hard to see them in the actual contents of the bin, but along the lower edges of the tub walls you can see a bunch of little baby worms just wiggling around on the plastic surface. one super cool thing about them is that they’re actually so small they’re transparent? and you can see food working its way through their little bodies. it’s crazy that they eventually (god willing) will be as big and robust as the adult worms!!! like they’re hair-thin right now, its bonkers. anyway, gave them some apple peels (i should really branch out to more fruits), used tea leaves, some leftover rice, and a LOT of eggshells. put in some shredded cardboard on top.
day 64 of worm adventures:
they seem like they’re doing alright in there! the only thing left over from last week’s food is the daikon peels, which i figure is because daikon is a tuber and decomposes less quickly, so i’m not too worried about it. the apple peels were gone too, so i think they also just needed some extra time. this week i put in more apple peels (been eating a lot of apples lately), a little used coffee grounds, used tea leaves, and a couple perfectly healthy leaves that pudge (my more destructive, goblin-like cat) ripped off some house plants. added in some shredded cardboard and a little water, as things looked a bit dry in the bin.
