Thinking about the "Would you love me if I was a worm?" question and the logistics of actually keeping a worm alive, happy, and healthy. Without looking anything up, I know they need their skin moist enough for them to breathe (they breathe through their skin), but not too wet or they'll drown (this is why they surface when it rains, ground too wet). And the dirt you put them in needs to have nutrients of some kind, so compostable things need to be added every once in a while.
Which all means I'd be obsessively checking the dirt's moisture levels and setting timers to add food into whatever I'm using as an enclosure.
