Do you think Marissa saw Krouse during Gold Morning? Do you think she saw Cody (assuming he was alive)???
Do you think, while being walked from one place to another, made to use her powers again and again, under the power of someone she could barely understand, she looked and saw an old, fallen, unrecognizable friend so close by? Or across the battlefield?
Saw him and thought he may have seen her, but unable to speak, to even say anything, if anything remained to be said, two years since she left him behind, saw his emotionless face and unmoving eyes, not knowing if he even saw her, what he might have been thinking if he did - remorse, nostalgia, homesickness? Hatred, betrayal, longing?
