Fan Game Idea: Worms vs. Cthulhu (prologue)

Many moons had it been since the worms went to war

Even now, the worms have yet to settle the score

Then one day, between fights -- and as the battlefield smoldered --

A machine was invented to respawn one side’s soldiers

Created in a lab by the brilliant Dr. Subterran

Who was loyal to the leader of the worm clan Lumbriceran

Said leader -- Lord Wormbury -- his general, and other elites

Were all in the doctor’s lab to witness this scientific feat

Assuring the clan’s victory, the inventor pulled the switch

But something went wrong, and not just a technical hitch or glitch

What rose from the platform of this Lazarus machine

Was not a worm, but something more cosmically obscene

Visage bristled with tentacles and eyes in wrong places

Quite plainly, horror was written on the other worms’ faces

One timid lad offered a hand for a shake

But the tendriled one opened its jaws like a snake!

As the poor soul was eaten, the other worms fled

So scared, yet so angry that their visions were red

Now the worms had new foes, not seen in many suns

One the textbooks did call “The Primordial Ones”

Now the worms unite against this eldritch threat

Will this alliance last? On that, I’d not bet.

I played Reloaded for the first time yesterday without headphones and the music was very quiet. Now I put those on and can really hear it. After hearing the Sudden Death OST first (in WUM) this feels like a "stealthy" version of it.
