a couple of new serpentverse dragons i've made recently. hognose i'll make another post on at some point because they have relatively extensive lore (they are a cousin of the largest flying dragon currently living, and have been using that as a basis to... start a cult...). Second guy is tentatively named siggy (short for cygnet) and i don't have much idea of their situation but i think they may be involved with cadnir (dragon wizard i don't think i've posted about at all).
the third serpentverse character, a mysterious knight! he doesn’t talk much, but he’s got a really big sword and isn’t that all that matters? whether he’s a unique entity like basilisk & serpent-tamer or is simply an overgrown mimic is unknown, but he has it out for anything remotely dragon-like.
worm-slayer’s species has gone from unknown to... kind of known. that is, he was human at one point, but got cursed a whole bunch and eventually ended up as whatever the hell he is now (a sexy bug man, perhaps). he does, in fact, sometimes eat the dragons he kills (when they’re not full of acid or poison). and, like many creatures, he injects digestive enzymes into things and then slurps the resulting meaty liquid with a proboscis! delicious! (or just has some regular soup). he doesn’t appear to have any sort of mouth besides that - how he speaks is a mystery.
he also has too many rat friends (by which i mean, a robot and an elf) who try to climb on him, however the robot is too heavy and also not built for climbing like an elf is so they just settle on Clinging.
fun fact! worm-slayer is technically not superhumanly strong at all - at least he hasn’t got any permanent spells that make him stronger. what he has is a combination of having already been a large and powerful person, and having superhuman durability - so he’s a lot less likely to dislocate things or tear up his muscles while hacking up dragons and lifting heavy stuff. he also has almost no sense of pain, so even on the very rare occurance that he did overexert himself to the point of damage, he likely wouldn’t notice until later... which can turn into big problems down the road, but he always heals eventually! just slowly.
hi!! I love that art u did of worm-slayer!! if ur up to talking about it, have u played him in a game before/whats he like? his design is super cool and I'm dying to learn more about him lol
nah he’s not for a game or anything (altho i may end up doing some regular text rp with him at some point), he’s just a character i made for fun in one of my (many) headworlds! serpentverse spawned off of 1 character (basilisk) as things usually go and then i just kept building.
ALSO THIS GOT LONG.. WHOOPS. putting a readmore
let’s see as for information... i mean, i’ve got all the facts abt him of like, what his general uh, physical makeup is and his Magic Powers™ and i don’t have the specifics of all the curses and spells and whatnot he got slapped on him but i have a pretty clear layout of the results! he used to be human but he isn’t anymore by multiple definitions (anatomy, magical signature, possibly genetic code even) and hasn’t been for a long time. his armor is ridiculously durable magically & physically and most of it is permanently fused with his body, his body itself is extremely resilient which allows him to exert a lot more force than a normal human would w/o injury, thus making him EFFECTIVELY superhumanly strong. he basically doesn’t feel pain, which isn’t always a good thing. he has a nifty proboscis for Slurping Fluids unfortunately he doesnt like it very much and misses chewing :( there is also another curse that cannot be discussed in polite company but its REALLY funny.
story wise, he mostly just works as a dragonslayer/general pest control for serious magical creature stuff. at one point he went after basilisk, and things went badly. for both of them! he won the fight but would have died from exposure to its blood if it weren’t for serpent-tamer’s intervention, which is really saying something because he is Very Hard To Kill. effectively immortal unless he gets exposed to a fuckin, poison elemental i guess (basilisk isnt an elemental but it does have ties with the very concept of poison which is part of what makes it so toxic).
currently he’s got a deal with serpent-tamer to 1) not kill basilisk 2) not get killed by basliisk 3) be a bodyguard when she needs it. also they’re just kinda friends now! she’s helped him as best she can to mitigate some of the more unpleasant curse effects that have shown up over the years & make magical weapons and stuff too.
OH yeah by the way the reason he is like this i did mention curses and spells but basically, pissing off a lot of very powerful magic users (dragons...) and overuse of performance enhancing spells just really built up over the years but like, he’s fine with it
for the most part
Don’t Worry About It.
anyway personality wise he’s like... kinda detached, i think. idk i haven’t gone into it enough to describe it too well, i’m workin’ on that
