1. Are you affected by the polar vortex?
Umm.. I feel dumb because I'm not sure what this is. Something swirling around the North and South Poles? Or does it have something to do with the winter storm right now? If it's the second, then yes. I might be too dumb to answer your questions..
2. What is your favorite thing to get at a restaurant? Something that just is not the same if you do it.
Honestly, it's probably the free bread. I pretty much never have bread with a meal at home. But give me those Olive Garden breadsticks, the rolls and cinnamon butter at Texas Roadhouse or the bread, oil and cheese at Pompei and I'm in heaven.
3. Cake donuts or the dumb fluffy kind?
Good grief. Feeling dumb again. I don't eat donuts often and thought they were all made the same way. I usually get a chocolate long john from Dunks. So whichever that is.
4. If you could travel anywhere in the world…where would it be?
I'd like to visit the part of Italy that my family came from. It's the dirt at the bottom of the boot as my great-grandma said. I'd also like to attend the Summer Olympics. I don't care if it's US hosted or elsewhere. I just think it'd be awesome to be in that atmosphere.
5. Favorite TV show? That you can just watch over and over again.
That list is so long. Shows I watch heavily: The Office, Gilmore Girls, Punky Brewster, Will & Grace. I feel like Friends and Full House are givens because they're on so much. Same with Big Bang. I can (and do) watch stuff hundreds of time. Ooh, I forgot Home Improvement but it's not on as often anymore. Love those Taylors. Oh, Taylors. Throw FNL in there too.
6-7. Favorite quotation? Is there a reason why?
"Tough times don't last but tough people do." I don't think they're her words, but I heard it from basketball player Sue Bird in an interview during her UConn days. It was one of the quotes I always wrote on my game shoes or cleats because I liked it. Tough times suck but they do end eventually. I think we're stronger because we go through them.
8. What one thing would you want to change about the world to make it a better place?
The need for the crazy materialistic goods and the priority that is placed on them. I have students that come from families that can't afford food or new uniform pants yet they have iphones and Playstations and fancy cars. Why is it more important to spend your money on that stuff? The need for possessions has become too much. Priority isn't placed on the people and their actual needs in a family, it's just what they can get so they can say they have it. I usually tell my students, "Sorry but the college admissions office/future boss doesn't care if you have a ______." It gets filled in with phone, hoop earrings, highlights, Uggs, North Face, etc..
9. What house are you in at Hogwarts?
I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but I actually know the answer to this. I went on the WB tour in LA and in the museum, they have the stool and hat that tells you. So I sat on it and got Gryffindor (did I spell that right?). The friend I was with got Slytherin.
10. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?
I don't make them. I just hope to stay healthy, enjoy my job (that's been a hard one) and travel to someplace new.
11. What is the last book you read? Would you recommend it to others?
The last book I finished was Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan. I'm in the middle of a few though. I definitely recommend it though, but only if you love laughing.
